i'm ashley. i'm 21 (22 in december) and i live in san francisco and i go to California College of the Arts (CCA) for Fashion Design. i live in an apartment with my closest (female) friend, amy, and another roomie named Hayley. my real home is in southern california (orange county), and i've lived there all my life and even though i love the city, i miss my home so bad sometimes. i have a boyfriend of 40 months (!!) named Jared, we've been to hell and back together and we're some of the strongest people i know. he makes me feel warm inside, like an apple pie in my guts. i smoke a lot of weed, but i stay away from chemical-drugs. i like to read Lolita over & over again and find little hidden juicy tidbits (like did you know the Annabel character is based on Edgar Alan Poe's Annabel Lee?). i listen to music like animal collective, devendra, cocorosie, the woodstock soundtrack. but i also listen to kanye west, jay-z, k-os, and girl talk. i have some silly health problems and i usually ignore them. school is kicking my ass right now and ( ... )

Ashley, after I started reading your journal a while I have these ideas that if I had stayed in California (I lived in Irvine) we would have been friends and thinking like that makes me pretty happy. I'm also turning 22 but a little behind you (January 2nd).

Have you heard the song, "Lolita" by Elefant?

I LOVE your headbands and admire that you can do things like that. =)

I wish I had the patience to be a cook, but it's a really bad fault of mine. Impatience, I mean. This is going to sound strange but are you a natural redhead? (I dye my hair red so I'd be totally jealous if you were.)
