Gossip Girl
Blair Waldorf and Dan Humphrey

**Timeline of the story is post Season 5 Valentine Episode

City lights, skyscrapers, different faces pass by as Blair’s cab zooms it way away from city. She can already see the bridge and this should be her cue to ask the cab driver to drive her back to the penthouse instead. But she can’t bring herself to utter a word.

Since the kiss her mind just can’t produce anything coherent, that’s why she wasn’t that surprise when she left the ‘Cardiac Ball’, hail a cab and ask the cab driver to bring her to Brooklyn.

She was now across the bridge, and somehow she felt herself relax upon seeing that familiar building she grew accustomed with.

“Are you just going to stare cause I might charge you extra if your not going out.”

Blair glared at the driver, open her mouth about to throw back something harsh when the cab door opened.

“Blair?”

Blair didn’t have to look to know who that owner of the voice is. She knows who the owner is like she knows the owner cell phone number by heart.

“What are you doing here? Aren’t you suppose to be in city, partying, representing Monaco?”

“If you don’t want me here Humphrey just close back the door and tell the driver to drive back to city. There’s no need for you to asking all those questions.”

She remained seated inside the cab getting rather uncomfortable from the stares the cab driver is giving her and the fact that Dan is just a few feet away from her.

“I’m about to go to the store to grab some honey. Would you like to go with me? We can have tea and watch a film in the loft.”

“Can’t you see what I’m wearing Humphrey? And you’re asking me to walk with you to buy some honey. Are you out of your mind?”

“It’s not like you haven’t walked around JFK in a white extravagant wedding dress.”

“Well there’s a big difference between the airport and Brooklyn!”

“Fine then, driver just bring her back to city.”

The cab driver is now watching the two of them with amusement. It is not everyday that he gets to witness something so entertaining as this.

“No… ”

Everyone is waiting for her to say something else, including herself. But she can’t seem to produce another word. She looked at Dan and she knows, she knows that Dan knows. He knows how she’s feeling right now, what she wants right now and it scares her that the person who knows her best right at this moment is the same person whom she detest back at her teenage years.

Dan helped her out of the cab; hold her hands firmly not ready to let go. In that moment Blair knows the answer to her questions. Know what she wants. She wants this. Him. She wants the now she’s having, and she can she herself sharing it with him. Dan.

The walk to the convenient store and back was nothing but silence. Its not the kind of awkward silence that you know just by standing two feet away from it that there is something wrong. The silence they share is a comfortable one. The two most intellectual and verbal person in New York City is walking in complete silence because at this moment words are not needed to express how happy and content they both are.

The moment Blair was reunited with words was when Dan opened the door to the loft. Hands still clasped together, Blair breaks the silence.

“I want this. But I want us to take it slow. I want to be sure this time, 100% sure because I know I wouldn’t want this to end.”

Blair didn’t have to elaborate for Dan to understand. Still not letting go of Blair hands he gave him a smile of agreement.

“We’ll take this slow. I’ll wait until your 100% sure, because I know for sure I wouldn’t want this to end as well.”

They spent the remaining few hours of Valentines days with each other wrapped in a blanket - which took Dan a few minutes to persuade Blair to use - and a cup of warm tea in there hands while watching Breakfast at Tiffany’s and nothing more because they are both willing to wait, to take things slowly, to be sure. But one things Blair is 100% sure, is that for the first time in a very long time Blair was happy this Valentines day.

Author's Note:

This is unbeta-ed and not proof read so all mistakes are mine and I apologize in advance.

This has been collecting cob webs in my document folder since February so I sorry it's not worth of your time. but please bare in mind this written in-between Chemistry and Biology Lectures and Report. Im a bit rusty I admit the last One-shot I wrote was about my teenage Japanese addiction. So enough with me ranting and onto the very short one-shot story.
