You know-- this is why a group of friends of mine from Towson always used to take me with them with them when they went bowling. Let me have as many slurpees as I wanted as long I walked them back to their dorm if they had one too many. I'm trustworthy, even when one of them tried to steal my Hawaiian shirt while I was still wearing it.

You are a good guy.
Sadly, not all male friends are so nice-- a significant portion of acquaintance rapes are committed by trusted male friends. Isn't that horrifying?

Keep being part of the solution, man!

Well, that was... wow. Still trying to catch up with the load of bile I just read. That column is special. Fortunately reading the comments' section provides some sanity.

And a lot of trolling, which I don't think takes this crap nearly seriously enough, but at least people recognize that Knepper's a moron.

I'm trying to come up with an appropriate response. The guy is really nothing but a troll-- that's why I don't read the school paper normally-- I have always thought that no good can come of feeding the trolls.

What worries me is the "liberal" media are. I mean, the only surprising thing about David Horowitz's column weighing in on the pro-rape side is that anyone pays that troglodyte for anything, but CBS news and the Washington Post? Admittedly, the Post did a good job of explaining editorial discretion, but still, they ought to know not to feed the trolls.

This may, incidentally, be a teachable moment about why they do, so keep watching for a new post about false equivalencies in the media. I'd love to do a post about why TV news has this tendency to pretend that all views expressed by anyone are equally valid, whether or not they make any sense at all, even if they flatly contradict the obvious facts.
