Actually, I almost titled this Al Franken is cool, because he is. He can draw a map of the US freehand in 2 minutes, while carrying on a conversation, and that's cool. That's why the second link.
Al Franken has been cool long before he got into politics. Remember when he sent Bill O'Riley a fruit basket for calling him an enemy of the state thus sending the sales of his books through the roof?
Vaguely. He was also a high-functioning math geek before Saturday Night Live (really, he majored in math). Which was uncool, it was before uncool was cool, and that makes him cool. Or at least that's how my mommy says it works.
