I was already crying at this part...
In fact Fred gave him nearly an hour before he came back into the bedroom, a bit more subdued, with the green gingerbread counter in his hand. He held it up mutely as George opened his eyes.
"Green, buddy."
Fred nodded, then left the room, muttering under his breath. "Green, green, green, green..."
And I was sobbing when I read about how Fred had bought Angelina a ring.
I loved....despite all the tears, or maybe because of them ::shruggs::
Going into my favorites.

I just absolutely knew that if I was going to write George and Hermione, Fred had to be there.
I scoured the last pages of the book for days making sure there wasn't reference to anyone covering him up, or pronouncing him truly dead, to make sure that it was plausible, at least that he was only 'mostly dead', to borrow from my favourite film. I had to give him the Miracle Max treatment, y'know?
Thanks so much for reading, and for your nice words. It totally made my day!

And yes, there are a couple of shorter fics sitting on my hard drive, waiting until this can be posted on my LJ, and then I'll post them as well.
Glad you enjoyed it!

glockgal: WOW! Charlie's Room was - yeah. Good. (& that's the end of my speechlessness.)
acoustics1220: I had a great time listening to the soundtrack, & I have to agree that it went with the story wonderfully.
This is going in my memories.

And I agree, the Charlie's Room art? took my breath too. And the music? It's on my iPod now.
Thanks so much for reading, and I appreciate your nice words!

The only reason I can't suppress a little whimper is... Fred. Damnit. I'm glad he's alive and (mostly) happy, but Fred, no longer able to do magic, or thinking of marrying his girl, or even getting lucky again...
... probably due to my own husband having had brain damage a few years ago and both of us worrying whether he would ever be normal again. In our case, the answer was (mostly) Yes. The idea of the answer being No is kind of a total and absolute bummer that puts a huge shadow over everything else :( :(
Hanging on to the idea of the return of "green" being hope that the most of the rest will someday return too.
Lovely love story. Wonderful Hermione. George/Hermione ftw!

And I'm hanging on to that idea myself. I've written a couple short fics in the same little universe, and all signs would point to that being mostly true.
I keep hoping that Molly and George knew what they were doing when they put that wand in the vault.
Thanks again for such a nice review. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

LOL I'm with you on the "doesn't ring true" thing, despite having written George/Angelina :D :D :D

::has a bit of an aneurysm::
Um... any chance of those short fics being posted? Or have they been already? And if so, how did I miss them? And if not, OMFG would you mind terribly much if I stalked you with wistful neediness until they are?

And the George/Angelina thing... yeah. But your 'A Bit Unhealthy' was addictive, you know, and made their twisty sort of relationship plausible at least. It broke my heart in lots of ways...
I know... Let's stalk each other!!
