Summary: Jack Harkness is sent on what he thinks is a wild goose chase to investigate strange happenings in Hyde Park on All Hallow's Eve. He finds a widowed Hermione Granger messing with things she ought not to be messing with instead. Hermione finds herself in over her head before she knows it, and resents Jack for being there to lend a hand. One thing leads to another and they find themselves in a situation neither of them expects.
Author’s Note: After a discussion in my LiveJournal about strong character names and which names you prefer for characters versus live people and my statement that I preferred “Jack” and “Hermione” for characters, the former even before our Captain Jack here and the latter after our Hermione here, Madam Minnie challenged me to write a fic in which they meet. Blame her.
For the first Hermione Big Bang (hermionebigbang) because Inell (inell) is a vile enabler. Vile.

This is simons_flowers final story, completed about a month before her death. She was so excited about this challenge and was very proud of finishing it. We think it very fitting that her final story was about Hermione, a character with whom she identified so closely.
