So I'm just posting this for fun. I've made two lists; one of my favourite moment from each Harry Potter book, and one of my favourite line/s from each Harry Potter film. The lists aren't horribly long, and I'd love to know what everyone else's favourite bits are. What scenes did you wish you'd been able to see on film? What film moments surprised ( Read more... )

lists, snape, obsession: books/reading, dumbledore, ron, quotes, obsession, is: pointless, harry potter, hermione

You don't have enough Harry Potter and I have far too much Inception.

Srsly, the frequency of fic turnover is doing wonderful things for my procrastination technique.

Enough of that, I have an important exam on Tuesday.
Have you seen Inception?
More to the point, have you seen Joseph Gordon-Levitt? O.o
MMmmmmmmmmmm. I've been straight for about 3 weeks now because of him. It's scary.

Sorry this is so unrelated to your post... Just thought we should catch up on the important things ;) fandom, crushes and sexuality.
I'll leave politics and religion for later... x

Lol. No, I haven't - it's on my to-watch list. And I don't know who that is. I recognise the name, though; what's he been in?

No worries about unrelatedness. Have you been watching Being Human?

Lollll. Also, THIRD ROCK. Much love. I love him in that show.

Being Human is weird, but okay. I think the show is always better when it's dealing with day-to-day things, rather than the end of civilisation. So I prefer those bits. And the last episode was excellent :)

You're getting me all Harry Potter atwitter, it tickles. I have convinced my mother-in-law to read the books this winter. She's in love with them and on Azkaban now and I'm sooo excited that she's breaking out of her shell and reading them, she really likes to read epic things that she can really get lost in, but they're usually serious historical novels and such, and I just knew if she could get past the fantastical thing.....she is apparently taking notes, literally, afraid to not remember all of the names and things, you'd think I'd asked her to read it in another language ( ... )

*laughs* It's always awesome to watch someone new getting into the books. And I like that she's taking notes - in a way, that's what my SPN reviews are about. I don't like the idea of losing track, and going over it on my LJ helps me remember.

Haha, you're entitled to dislike it! :) That's fair enough. Which book is your favourite (obviously not seven)?

I haven't seen The Woman in Black - not the film. But I did see it on stage a few years back, and it was terrifying! :D Brilliant stuff. I shall watch the film at some point, I think, but only in bright sunny daylight with the sound turned down and a bunch of friends XD. I don't do scary.

And Dan Rad is a surprisingly good actor, isn't he? I saw him in Equus and like you I hardly thought of him as Harry at all...

I think just conceptually I loved Goblet of Fire, it's where things took a turn for the serious for sure! I think it was probably my favorite book. I also loved Half-Blood Prince, the mystery kept me very intrigued.

Azkaban blew me away as a movie when it came out, the bleakness, and the epic scope it had was so different from the first 2 movies, and I am by no means any sort of film geek/buff but I noticed the difference and was wowed by that movie. AND I loved the final movie as well, it was everything it should have been.

Goblet of Fire is my favourite too :) And I agree about the last film, though I prefer the second-to-last (DH p1) in terms of it being pitch-perfect how it was in my head. Azkaban really was a brilliant turn, though :)
