i had heard that it was about the same as Times Square at New Year's.
but you know.
i have never personally witnessed that
so i have no comparison really.
i can say this.
there was a point i had to escape into the subway to catch a train uptown just to be able to BREATHE!
but it was fascinating.
i know they're a little blurry. i refuse to use a flash.
puppets - ghosty and skelotony
more scary skeleton puppets - and a giant pumpkin
lochness monster puppet
this was my favorite.
window watchers
these lucky new yorkers had the best view.
this was unlike anything i've ever seen. thousands of people lined 6th avenue. i could barely see anything, as i didn't have the willpower to push my way up to the front of the crowd. most of the time i was holding my camera up above my head to take some video and photos for the people who couldn't be there.
after i realized my claustrophobia was kicking in a bit, i rushed to the subway to head uptown.
sitting on the sidewalk waiting for my friends to meet me, i watched hundreds of costumed new yorkers walk, run, limp by.
it was way better than any parade.
best costumes: 4 friends dressed as Mario Kart.
Mario
Luigi
Donkey Kong
Toad
all with a cardboard box car around their waste. it took me a couple seconds to figure out what they were, but it made me so happy.
