“I’ve got a lot of skeletons in my closet,” Sylar said suddenly. He and Claire were lounging on the couch in each other’s arms. Claire raised her eyebrows up at him.
“Like?” Claire asked after a moment of silence. Sylar shook his head.
“It’s only one, really,” Sylar said.
“You mean that figuratively, right?” Claire asked. Sylar wouldn’t keep dead bodies in the house… would he? “I mean, dead bodies… figuratively, right?”
Sylar chuckled and ran a hand through Claire’s hair.
“Silly Claire, dead bodies would make our house smell,” Sylar said. “Decomp does not smell like roses. That’s why I said skeleton.”
“In the closet?” Claire asked, getting up and staring at Sylar as if he had grown three heads. “Which one?” Sylar nodded to the one near the front door. Claire cautiously made her way towards it. She jumped back after she opened the door.
There was nothing there.
“Liar,” Claire said, turning around and pouting. Sylar smiled and got up off of the couch.
“It’s hidden,” Sylar said as he dug around the jackets in the closet. "You don't keep a skeleton out in the open." Claire screamed and ran across the room when Sylar pulled out a skeleton.
“Whose is it?” Claire screamed, watching Sylar with her mouth open in horror. The joy on Sylar’s face made her wonder what that person had done to him.
“You remember that boy I was talking to you about?” Sylar asked.
“Luke?” Claire whispered. Sylar nodded then threw the skeleton back into the closet, breaking it into little pieces in the process.
“Yeah… shame, really, but you can’t bring back the dead,” Sylar said. “C’mon, let’s go get some take-out.”
“Anything to get out of this house,” Claire said, running out of the house through the garage.
