Anita is coming to visit the campus in November, and I am ridiculously excited. We did a fondue francofolie this summer together, and it was amazing. I know I say I don't like people (and I really don't), but pretty much everyone from French camp was, and is, wonderful. And now Anita is coming to visit! I should return the favor and visit ( Read more... )

I've been cleaning out my mental/emotional closet lately and I wanted to say thank you. During my inventory, i guess you would call it, i have hit upon the fact that when it comes down to it, and all the times that it really mattered you have been one of the only, if not the only, people that has been there for me consistently. This has been despite us not being very good friends, speaking very infrequently, and, i think, having had quite a few misunderstandings. Sadly, I doubt that you can say the same of me, but for whatever it's worth, I do appreciate you. There have been times that I have disagreed with things you said or things you have or haven't done, but I have never lost sight of the fact that you're one of the most interesting, intelligent people I will ever know, and a good friend in ways that matter in the long run. A lot of the reason i think we have lost touch is just because of the way that we were friends. I do not do well with equal friendships- I give more or I take more, i don't like equality. I can't tell you how much that means to me. I am reminded frequently of past conversations and expeditions with you, and I miss them every single time. I am sorry that we grew apart, and I know that I didn't always act how I should have, but most things, it turns out, can be chalked up to being teenagers. It's a scientific fact - a recent study showed the teenagers use a different part of their brain when making decisions that concern other people. Namely, a part that does not take into consideration outside factors, and how things will affect other people, whereas adults make decisions using the part of the brain that does. WEIRD, and wonderful.

Science aside, thank you, so much. I am doing well, and I love every day. I hope that with this inventory, you can say the same. I'm around, if you ever want to talk/rant/bubble, and sometimes I show up in Wyoming, where I here other people I know live.
