I am not a fucking angel by any means, but when it comes to the way I deal with my friends, I really try to be as fair and non-dickish as possible. Even if I need to end a friendship, I try not to be a fucking douche. For the last year, I have said very little to anyone other than my very closest friends about the demise of a recent friendship.

why was that message sent as a locked livejournal post and not an e-mail?

Because it was originally written for myself only. After I was done I realized she should probably see it. I kept it in the journal form because it would afford us both more privacy than an email with our names on it - something that could be easily forwarded and whatnot.
