Gate of Babylon - "King's Treasury"
- Type: Anti-Army
- Rank: E~A++
A small sword that functions as a time-key, it opens a path through time and space to Gilgamesh's legendary treasury in the ancient city of Uruk, rumored to have once contained all the treasures in the world. This allows the Golden King access to an immense amount of noble phantasms, all of them ancient weapons of myth, some of which range from weak to incredibly powerful, though only one noble phantasm housed within can be said to equal or exceed the power of say, Saber's Excalibur or Rider's Bellerophon. Still, the Gate of Babylon's greatest advantage is not so much in power (Though it has plenty of that) but in the endless variety of weapons he can attack with and their myriad abilities. While only having particular skill with swords and bows, Gilgamesh can throw all other weapons or simply project them straight out of the vault at extreme speeds, creating a deadly rain of steel, bronze and god knows what else from which there is little escape.
Enkidu - "The Chain of Heaven"
Also known as the Chains of Fate, Enkidu is in truth not a noble phantasm and thus has no ranking. Despite this it is Gilgamesh's most trusted weapon and has never failed him even once. A chain forged for the specific purpose of restraining Gods, it is named Golden King's greatest friend and ally, Enkidu, who restrained Bull of Heaven from behind while Gilgamesh slew it from the front. As Enkidu was punished with death by the Gods for his role in the Bull's end, Gilgamesh finds it fitting that one of the few anti-divine weapons in existence should bear his name. Essentially, any being that bears divine blood will find it extremely difficult if not impossible (It depends on how much divine blood one has) to escape from the chain's grasp once ensnared. Those with no divine blood whatsoever will find it little more than a simple chain, though being bound properly in it still doesn't lend itself very well to an easy escape, since a chain is still a chain.
Ea - "The Star of Creation that Splits Heaven and Earth"
- Type: Anti-World
- Rank: E-EX
A weapon that slices through space itself. While Excalibur releases air, the sword draws it in by cycling its triblades and compresses it. The highly compressed wind pressure strata results in the creation of an artificial space-time rift that is thought to be the basis of all legends regarding the lands of the dead, the origin of the memory of all organisms. In other words, Ea can be said to be a key to hell itself, or, rather, an absolute "truth," as according to Gilgamesh. Something that is not found in the imagination or in the spoken memory of people, but in the genetically inherent and repressed knowledge of a place and time when organic existence had been impossible on this planet.
The activation name for the Noble Phantasm is Ea, however, the sword has no true name; Gilgamesh just calls it that. Enuma Elish is added to get the maximum output. Damage is STR x 20. At random, MGI will be added on to STR. Maximum damage is 4000, but vault items can and will increase this. Damage is so high that it is undefendable except through purge-resistant AC or nullification by striking the blast with an equally strong attack.
A-Rank
Aegis - "The Absolute Shield"
A gilded buckler embossed with the head of a gorgon in the center, this legendary shield was said to have belonged to Zeus himself who frequently loaned to Athena and worthy heroes. Said to be a nearly impenetrable means of defense, it works on the principle of reversing casuality: As soon as Aegis is put into play, the attack is fated to be blocked. In effect, the result of successfully defending occurs before an opponent's blow actually lands. This makes Aegis a natural form of defense against other causality-based attacks such as Gae Bolg. However, as with the legendary spear the defense of the shield can be bypassed with sufficient luck.
Brionac - "The Five Roaring Stars"
The original spear belonging to the Irish God of light, Lugh. When thrown, the spear rapidly accumulates light and energy during its flight and releases it upon striking, resulting in a powerful explosion with the capacity to flatten a modern city block. Additionally, it is one of the parent spears to Lancer's Gae Bolg, which seems to have taken on both this property as well as the power of Gugnir to strike the enemy no matter what and refined them both.
Caladbolg - "The Hardest Blade"
Famed as the sword of the legendary celtic hero Fercus mac Roith, Caladbolg is a large two-handed sword with such power that it was famed for slicing the top off of hills and destroying most of an army host. The history of this noble phantasm is intricately entwined with the aspect of Earth, allowing it to dramatically shift and alter the earth in a single blow, completely transforming a battle terrain. Where is many other A-Rank noble phantasms rely on emulating or invoking powerful kinds of sorcery, Caladbolg relies on pure, overwhelming power and little else.
Claiomh Solais - "Blade of the Everlasting Dawn"
As one of the four treasures of Ireland, Claiomh Solais is one of the most potent and legendary noble phantasms in Gilgamesh's possession. Considered the Irish equivalent of Excalibur, this Noble Phantasm has similar properties in the form of releasing concentrated prana in focused blasts of light. Although the legend of King Arthur's sword is more famed still, the potency of this twin cannot be denied and would be a great boon to any servant participating in battle.
- Type: Anti-Army
- Rank: A+$
Kusanagi - "Wind Cutting Sword of the Heavens"
Not unlike Claiomh Solais, Kusanagi is an eastern blade whose fame is also considered to approach that of Excalibur's. Possessing utter control over the domain of wind, the user is able conjure gales of hurricane force so concentrated that they are well capable of tearing through city blocks and cutting individuals to ribbons. As fitting of the predecessor of Japanese dueling sword however it's true power lay in the channeling of these powerful forces into the utter destruction of a single target. Curiously the design is in fact -not- of a katana as it is sometimes depicted, but a straight-edged bronze blade as the myth of Kusanagi began before the katana was perfected. Gilgamesh often favors firing this noble phantasm from Gandiva due to the complementary effects of fire and wind.
Ukonvasara - "The Thundering Artifice"
As one of the most obscure noble phantasms in the Gate of Babylon, this weapon has achieved its rank based almost solely on its original power as the legend is relatively unknown. It appears several closely related myths condensed into one describing the weapon of the Finnish Storm God Ukko as this phantasm is able to change form between a sword, axe and hammer at the user's will, enabling many shifting and confusing battle tactics. It's true power however lies in the ability to conjure powerful and destructive storms and directly channel massive electrical blasts.
- Type: Anti-Fortress
- Rank: A-
B-Rank
Apellon - "Sun's Fury"
A golden bow attributed to the Greek God Apollo, said to simultaneously cure disease and cause destruction. It functions in a manner similar to Gandiva save that it is elementally aligned with light rather than fire.
Dynamis - "Actus et Potentia"
The mirror shield that was once wielded by the hero Perseus, Dynamis is regarded as the ultimate defense against sorcery. Possession dominion of the transference and mitigation of energy, the reflective surface of this shield will turn any spell back upon the one who cast it. It was with this noble phantasm that Perseus was able to defeat the Mystic Eyes of the Gorgon Medusa and accordingly slay her. In Gilgamesh's hands it can be a potent reversal to most directed energy attacks. The rank of this noble phantasm would normally be A, but it's specialization against a particular damage type lowers it.
Gandiva - "The Unquenchable Thirst"
Forged by the Hindu God of Fire, Agni, this bow was bequeathed unto the hero Arjuna and along with others was also in the possession of Gilgamesh during his lifetime. Although the bow can rain down fiery bolts of destruction upon the enemy normally, it is most useful for it's enhancing properties of other noble phantasms: When fired from Gandiva, a noble phantasm's attack will have its rank increased by one with few exceptions (Though it cannot exceed A++, thus an A-rank weapon cannot reach EX no matter what). When used in conjunction with Gandiva a noble phantasm's type will also be overwritten with the natural property of the bow's. Weapons of lesser rank than Gandiva will be destroyed if used in this manner, however.
- Type: Anti-Fortress
- Rank: B+
Ifing - "Gale of Jotunheim"
A jeweled dagger forged by dwarves to extract a boon from the Frost Giants of Norse Mythology, a channel withing the blade contains water from the river that separates Jotunheim and Asgard, for which this Noble Phantasm is named. The blade is enchanted to summon a powerful gale upon each swing that shall freeze and overwhelm all with the misfortune to be in its path.
Joyeuse - "Deliverance of Kings"
As the blade of legendary king Charlemagne, it's only fitting that this noble phantasm would also end up in the King of Heroes repertoire. The scintillating colors of this blade serve to confuse and bewilder the enemy when used in battle. Increases the rank of Durandal when paired with it, hence the reason for this noble phantasm's rank despite not having a particularly strong offense.
Ruyi Jingu Bang - "Ever-Changing Staff"
Famed for its possession and use by the trickster Sun Wukong of Chinese Mythology, this simple-looking gold staff can change it's width and height to any degree the user desires, so long as they are strong enough to wield it. A noble phantasm of pure, if simple, crushing power.
Vajra - "Indestructible Diamond Pounder"
A strange weapon that is a hybrid between a sword, mace and spear. Vajra is a lightning-based weapon that can be shot once per day and, as long as it hits, will always do the same amount of damage to an enemy no matter the circumstances. This also means the attack cannot be enhance by being fired from Gandiva or Apellon, however. While a relatively simple noble phantasm, it's ability can be useful for bypassing an enemy's defenses.
C-Rank
Dainsleif - "Blade of Ruin"
A noble phantasm that normally brings ruin to possessor, the curse of the blade is largely diminished in Gilgamesh's hands to due to his powerful luck. Passed down by the descendants of the family responsible for the Nibelungen Hero Sigurd's death, the blade manifests a powerful sense of revenge and becomes more effective against a target in response to its wielder's enmity for them. Wounds caused by this blade are slow to heal and may fester.
Durandal - "The Peerless Sword"
An enchanted blade once possessed by the hero Roland, the edge never grows dull and remains sharp even when all of the wielder's prana is exhausted. The sword is particularly known for being able to invoke three limited 'miracles' each day, which work somewhat on the same principle as command spells (The more narrow an order, the higher chance of success). It is most useful for piercing defenses, cancelling spells and the lifting of curses or other harmful phenomenon.
Gugnir - "The Declaration of the Elder God"
Once the spear of the Norse God Odin, Gugnir is the source of the celtic spear Gae Bolg's myth. The latter however has become more famous and is thus more powerful than the original. Still, Gugnir employs the same type of causality reversal as Gae Bolg; When used, the result of "Hitting the enemy's body" (versus specifically the heart in Gae Bolg's case) is a predetermined, destined event and thus unavoidable through conventional means. The blow however is far more survivable than one from Gae Bolg as it is not guaranteed to strike a vital area and can even be avoided entirely by someone with enough luck.
Harpe - "The Snake-Hunter Sickle"
Once wielded by the demigod Perseus, Harpe is the original, perfect form of the greek sickle-sword and was used to behead the Gorgon Medusa. By itself Harpe is not an outstanding sword, but is able to ignore the defense of an enemy as it were not there and cause damage anyways. Harpe also possesses the ability of "refraction prolonging", a divine skill that cancels out special abilities from immortality and prevents recovery of wounds taken by Harpe. Healing through natural means is possible, but cannot be accelerated by sorcery or any other special abilities.
Merodach - "The Original Sin"
An unholy sword that is the source of the myth of Gram, as well as Saber's Caliburn. It is considered the strongest demonic sword against Excalibur as the strongest holy sword and due to Gram's role in slaying the dragon Fafnir also possesses the unique property of 'Dragonslayer', making the sword a natural weapon against those with draconic influences or connections.
Suriyothai - "Queen's Lament"
As the scythe that killed the legendary Queen with whom it shares its name, Suriyothai is a vicious double-bladed weapon that bears the property of 'Queensbane' due to the source of its fame, rendering it highly effective against much of anything having to do with Queens. The scythe is able to cut through dimensions, allowing it to strike an enemy from nearly any distance so long as a Gilgamesh can see them, though the accuracy of the attack does tend to fall off the further away they get.
Yata no Kagami - "The Sacred Portal"
One of the sacred treasures of Japan alongside Kusanagi, Yata no Kagami takes the form of a large and perfectly circular mirror. It is in truth a powerful scrying artifact, able to follow the movements and actions of a given individual by seeking out the lines of their fate. Even in the multiverse this function can still be achieved, so long as the use keeps within his mind a clear picture of whom or what he seeks. However, something strongly associated with the subject for the mirror to focus on can often help. Powerful personal warding or other means of sorcery can muddy this view of this noble phantasm. (OOC Note: Plot device artifact, will be used only with player consent)
