Like most good Japanese, Momoko had gone home for
Bon. Friday had been spent at the cemetery tending to the graves of relatives and then attending the
local bon odori in the evening.
Saturday, however, was another story. Or rather lots of stories, because on Saturday our heroine had permission to return to Tokyo City for Comiket!

Surely there was some comic book about doctors? She was from that, obviously. And Kayla was in a little pink, ruffly dress. World's tiniest candy striper! The toddler wasn't thrilled with her little white cardigan, it was pushing on her tiny wing-nubs. But Karla had little fruit lollipops to give out that also kept Kayla quiet.
"Kiss kiss!" she called when she spotted Momoko, both blondes waving at her old friend. "Momoko! We're here!"

"KAAARLAAAA!!!" Momoko pushed past a couple of mecha cosplayers and a Magical Dark Witch Elf to glomp her friend. "Ah!!! You did it! You came in cosplay!! You brought Kayla too!! Hi little one!!!!!"

"So welcome to Comiket! I'm thinking a quick tour and some costume spotting? Ah! Are you going to be able to stay long enough to come see my parents after? They will die if they find out they missed you."

Still, the armor was totally cool, too. Even if it made hugging Dinah a little hard. "If this is real? Then the first stop is the Photo Hall so you can get pictures over with."

"Parts of it?" Dinah admitted, laughing and hugging her back. "I didn't make it though, don't you have to be the designer or maker in order for there to be pictures? You look totally adorable, by the way."

"Not at all. Being a fan is being a fan. Lots of people will just be wearing hats or stuff they bought." Momoko did a turn, ending in her character's traditional salute pose. "High school idol Kurisumasu-chan! Spreading the happiness of Christmas through the present of song!"
