I'm enjoying Kate Mulgrew so much on Orange is the New Black that I'm considering watching Voyager. I had to give up on that show during its run, as I found the writing just unbearable, though I liked the actors (mostly) and what they were doing with the characters (mostly). It might be worth it now, though ... esp. since I can speed through

The Cosby horror story is beyond words. I feel betrayed. :(

[EDITED TO ADD: I also affirm that the story there isn't about me but rather the women he assaulted. Their feelings matter much more.]

Kate Mulgrew has an autobio out...it's not fabulous, but definitely worth a quick read. It's called something like Born with Teeth.

This could so be me... I gave up on Voyager, but have thought about giving it another go. And as for I Spy...yeah. I do separate character from actor--always. So, I don't think I will lose I Spy. What I am struggling with is memories--childhood shows and ads, four-generations viewing the same show and sharing laughter. I try to separate the character from the actor there, too, but it's harder. It's just terrible. And of course what I feel is absolutely nothing compared with women who were disbelieved, scorned, betrayed. It's unfathomable.

Anyway, Voyager, perhaps! Other TV shows to enjoy, perhaps!

Yes -- memories. My mom especially ... and maybe growing up in SoCal made it harder to separate the actors from the characters, since at least half of our "news" stories were about actors...

"Unfathomable" is a good word.

Finally someone writes about Bill Cosby and I Spy... it's so awful, and I think of our small I Spy comm and I don't know what to do.

Bill Cosby is well known in Germany, many people liked his "Cosby Show", and some old (uh well...) people even remember "I Spy". The best known German news magazine writes about him when something new happens, and yesterday Bill Clinton and Whoopi Goldberg were quoted.

I still have screencaps for some future Pros postings and about five or more I Spy postings (although I am a bit lazy, always lurking around Tumblr...). It may be a weird feeling to post I Spy screencaps like nothing has happened. I have one about nice I Spy women, that's not much of a problem, and one about I Spy children, where both men don't play the main role in the pics. I think I am o.k. with these two postings, and I have to think about the others.

I think it's perfectly okay to keep loving the show, but probably always now with the note that Cosby turns out to have been damaged and horrible in many ways.

Obviously, I completely understand feeling lazy about LJ! But I would love to see your I Spy postings, whatever you decide to do.
