Despite the coolness of the word "metadata", writing the stuff is absolutely mind-numbing. No wonder so many people don't bother (despite the fact that not having metadata makes their data almost useless to anyone else). I hope I don't have to do this as part of the internship. Not that the internship is going to be ground-breaking or especially
