I would be remiss if I said nothing about the historic election, but the reality hasn't really sunk in yet. After throwing my heart into two failed Democratic campaigns, my cynicism got in the way of any hope for this one, even at the end. I really didn't dare hope

To be brutally honest, I'll be holding my breath till January 21st. Because there's a lot of time between then and now, and a lot of batshit insane folks out there still, some of whom don't even scruple at openly discussing how best to kill him on a public news site's comment section.

I won't really believe it till he makes it through the first while.

My inner cynical bastard was silenced for several hours until they announced the California Prop 8 vote. So, in the spirit of hope and optimism, I'm turning that CA disappointment into a positive: I'm really proud to be a VT-er.
