Howdy! I made this guide... just because.
This is not, strictly speaking, a pro- "NaruSaku will happen" essay. It is only a counter to commonly used arguments Against NaruSaku happening. Not the same thing, yes?

I didn't really consider this a full-out essay, nor anything new from my POV, but then again, since the NaruSaku manifesto, I didn't bother to update on things.
What I consider to be The essay coming up from me though is my upcoming Structures essay. I'm posting it as soon as this arc ends.
In the meantime, rest well and get well! :D And just ignore the fans. XD

I wouldn't exactly consider this "class" and "elegance," but basically Kishimoto has been VERY helpful in providing us with defence material in part II. :D The Sai and Jiraiya/Tsunade comments took care of two very pesky aspects from Within the manga: not our personal opinions! And a big part of the rest is Shounen stereotypes.
Ah-hah, yeah, the team 7 one. Honestly, in this manga, Naruto/Sasuke >> everything else. It's pretty obvious and there really isn't a way around it. I mean, just look at how much of the manga is dedicated to it:
- the entire Part I rescue arc
- the first Part II Sasuke rescue arc
- a good chunk of the Zombie arc, as Naruto's training was to save Sasuke
- the second Part II Sasuke rescue arc =\
- not to mention the scatterings of Naruto/Sasuke interactions in other part I arcs
Like guh. You expect a balance out of that? =\

I guess it was about time I did an update for the fandom, especially since I haven't debated in like forever, just made scattered observations in the fanclub. XD

I can't say much as I'm tapping all this with a PS3 pad (PC is in sick bay), but I'd like to make a correction - Ed and Winry are the pairing in Fullmetal Alchemist, not Keitaro/Naru (Love Hina). :)

Now that I've put my PC back onto its feet (still some work left to do, but I'm getting there), I can talk more. XD
A few thoughts:
1. Sakura doesn't call Naruto "Naruto-kun". You have a good rebuttal there, and Kishimoto's scenes certainly did no harm. ;) (I still love the part where Sakura teases Naruto) My thought is that Sakura initially omitted the "kun" suffix as she viewed him as an annoyance and had no respect for him. Of course, we all know that's now changed. :) So while Sakura still omits the "kun", her reasons for doing so have changed. Plus, it's a habit after all those years...
2.Naruto/Sakura is a sibling relationship. Here's an old rebuttal of mine - since when did you blush over your brother or sister? :P Who the hell goes around asking their sister out on dates? I agree that Naruto and Sakura might not become romantically involved, but they're more like ( ... )

It saddens me that the debates keep on, and with such dumb arguments. I would have noted that just because there's a prominent sibling/friendship/w/e relationship in the manga, doesn't mean there can't be another like kind between Naruto and Sakura .. but you did mention that. (Also, I don't really see why two different kinds of relationships cannot be simultaneously held - because Naruto has to run with more cliche or something? Hrn)

However, there has been no Established such relationship between Naruto and Sakura. Indeed, Sai, the sibling expert, has never noted a sibling relationship between Naruto and Sakura, while Naruto himself has said that Sasuke accepted him more than anybody else.
Basically, saying that Naruto/Sakura is just sibling or best friends can only be personal opinion. It isn't an established fact Anywhere in the manga, so you really can't say "Naruto/Sakura are like brother/sister or best friends" and expect it to be a real argument (as opposed to just personal opinion).
Also, people use the best friends argument to claim balanced relationships between the members of team 7. Kishimoto's made it pretty clear that Naruto/Sasuke >> everything else, so that's out the window. :P
