Lady Rosalyn, you have done fine work upholding justice. That has not changed.
But the fact is that we must all eventually come to terms with the fact that this world is not the one from whence we came, with its own rules and ways. We must be flexible enough to discover those rules and differentiate between those that can be bent to our will, and those that cannot.
We must find ways to compromise, so that we can stand firm against that which absolutely cannot be compromised on.
I don't think villains who invite a horde of monsters to ravage the city for fun and mathematical beautification are ones that we can afford to pardon and compromise with!
Especially if they take out efforts to offer them atonement as an opportunity to counterattack!
One must judge these things on a case-by-case basis.
Unfortunately, this city is filled with many more who are not simply mischievous and bored. We must prioritise stopping these ones, for they will not be so easily dissuaded from causing harm to the citizens.
It is not so much a compromise as choosing one's battles. That must be done in an ambivalent place such as this.

Rosalyn, you've done nothing but good things for everyone since I've known you! Why would you say you've messed up?

...It was much, much easier to convince Linda and Epros and Big Bull to change their stripes!
