La Mexican (not it's real name, but the one we loved and adored just the same), the grinders place on Walnut, Steak n Shake (they're just not the same outside of B Town), Avers Pizza, and a few other places.

W.G. Grinders has *always* been a favorite. My first experience with the place was unfortunate, but still made me a believer: someone screwed up the order for a business lunch. We got cold grinders and I promptly returned to the place for a repeat of the real thing. I was immediately hooked.

Not to nitpick, but the grinders place you're thinking of is on College, not Walnut.

Village Deli, King Gyros, that Chinese buffet (not that one... the little one). If they could trade Macri's in for a Noble Romans, I might even be willing to move back. I mean, even Jiffy Treat... you can't get that here!

They'd have to get a decent pancake house, though. There's really nothing but Waffle House for breakfast, and that just ain't right.

I remember nursing hangovers at Denny's a lot. There was a definite shortage of good sit in breakfast places. No diners. Unreal.

Damn, I miss the BBC. :(

I'm not sure Bedford is decades behind.

It's more like a century or so behind. Like most of Southern Indiana. Only more small-townish.

(the coach I work under was once the HC of the Lady Stars, so I get a little bit of the gossip from down south. It's amazing the small-town politics/nepotism/crap that goes on there). It's about a million times more backwards than even you and L! used to let on.

Well, to be fair, we didn't really know much beyond Bedford at that point in our lives.
