Wow... Beauty and the Beast for $2? What a friggin' sweet find! These people must not have checked the internet to see how much they could get for it on eBay and stuff. I hate the "vault" thing Disney does. It's so stupid. It's just a way for them to keep their DVDs from becoming cheap. :p And I love BatB! That's my favorite Disney movie from when I was a kid. And I so need Toy Story on DVD. I can't believe I don't own any of the Pixar movies on DVD. They're some of the best movies ever and I can't believe I don't own any of them... But I bought BatB when that special ed. came out. I had to have that one.
I know, right? You wouldn't believe how much stuff you can find at garage sales for WAY cheaper than it's worth. Some people just aren't into eBay, I guess. Hey, their loss is my gain
( ... )
I try to always be aware of what's coming on on Disney's DVD, because I know that if I don't buy it when it comes out, I'm going to have to pay double for it later :P
Yeah, I got an old Hallmark movie for my birthday this year (it had Keri Russell in it! How could it be bad?!?) and Hallmark movies are IMPOSSIBLE to find. I think my mom ended up paying $35 for it :/
This was the last weekend for garage sales for me :P Sad face! But I try to go as much as possible during the summer :)
I have been garage sale-ing is years, it just isn't as good around here as it was where we lived before. I hate Disney's racket with their DVD's as well. Plus, I have a huge collection of VHS Disney movies that makes my mind spin at the thought of replacing on DVD. :O I only buy DVD now, but I have at least 50 Disney movies on video including Beauty and the Beast, which is also one of my all time favorites. I also love a lot of the classic Disney movies like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. :D
I used to HATE garage sale-ing, but now I'm practically addicted. About 75% of my wardrobe is garage sale finds. I'm lucky enough to live in a heavily suburban area, so we always get people who are just married or downsizing or upsizing, so there's always a lot of good stuff.
Yeah, when we looked at our Disney VHS collection, our first thought was "How the HELL are we going to replace all of these?!?!" But the best thing to do is prioritize. Think about what movies you watch the most. Any movie you haven't watched in 2-3 years is probably one you're not going to watch again. We ended up paring our Disney movie collection down by half; to the ones we watch the most.
The best way to replace any older VHS movies is to watch the ads--we had a TON of Christmas movies on VHS (that we watched every year), and I found a deal at Best Buy and I replaced 4 of them for $15!

I'm definitely jealous of your Beauty and the Beast find, too. Hubby bought it for me a year or two ago, and I don't want to know how much he paid. :x
I haven't been yardsale-ing in ages...I really need to before summer is over! Sadly, I work on weekends. :P
