So, tomorrow I start taking the exam that determines whether or not I become a dissertator. I get a list of around nine questions covering three areas, and I pick which three questions I want to answer, then write a ten (or more) page response dealing with the 90-100 books I've picked to discuss in my fields. maybe. That's the date of the oral component of the exam (that's not as dirty as it sounds), so I might be passed out by the early afternoon, and if I'm not, Connie and I will probably go to a reading, because it's some of our friends reading and, more importantly, it takes place at a bar.
