Not a bad little story at all, some nice dialogue in the argument, even though Owen's being so nasty! I like the idea of Owen's senses becoming sharper since his death.
I hope you don't mind my saying, but throughout, you've used 'where' instead of 'were', which is a bit jarring when reading.
