We had until the 30th of December to close on the new house or else.

10:30 am, Friday, we started in on the signing.

The rest of the weekend involved getting things into the house, tearing up the carpet in the living room, and related cleaning and unpacking. The hardwood floor in the living room has some dark patches that may well be urine burns ( Read more... )

I described part of the weekend to fosveny as "the rhythm of hammers striking prybars accompanying the chorus of 'DIE TACKSTRIPS DIE!!' " -- he allowed as he was very familiar with that, having ripped all the wall-to-wall out of his current place when HE moved in.

Some damp wiping involving simple green and some Old English Lemon Oil and it's improved. It still needs a proper refinishing, but it will do for now.
