rain plan

I had a program scheduled this morning, a short hike along Pat's Branch creek to discuss the importance of watersheds.  It was lightly sprinkling on and off and the teacher of the student group called me on the phone to ask me what my rain plan was ( Read more... )

wouldn't giving a talk about the importance of watersheds be IMPROVED by the addition of actual water that they can watch "shed"?

I'm a bit confused. What sort of covered area can you have a hike in (other than your idea of the mall - not too many watersheds there).
I just imagine seeing a line of children walking around and around in a circle under a picnic shelter while you tell them about watersheds, of which they can't see, because they will apparantly melt if they get wet.

Hiking in the rain is fun... what a silly teacher...
Maybe she should take her kids to U mall and they can learn the joy of Mall walking... where there are no rain, bug, or other scary scary things (ok some of the mall walkers are a little scary)

No some of them aren't scary... some are very very sad... and then some are very funny... but some some.. some are that scary thing that things that gives you awful chills
