Although we didn't get a cruise this year, we did take time out from working on the boat to explore the area around St Quentin.

We're so very lucky that we can go to places that are little known outside their region in France (and England) . Having a boat has provided so many opportunities to do this.

It was quite a surprise to find that the whole town was once part of the Abbey. It's a glimpse of earlier centuries.

It seems like ages. I reasoned that even though we haven't had a cruise since 2010, we were still managing to do some touring by road, using the boat as a base.
