all over the place

ever since reading in the latest Economist issue that -- on average -- 15% of people who take the Bar exam (without ever having gone to law school) pass, i kind of want to do it. i'm actually mediocre when it comes to standardized tests of any kind, but sometimes i like to set challenges for myself. (it's only when other people set them for me that ( Read more... )

Oh gosh, so many pretty pictures *___* I love your pics of Pulse Point, there's such a gorgeous translucent, otherworldly feel about them, so fluid and lovely. I'm not usually that into modern art but those pics have my heart!

I do hope you are successful with the challenges you set yourself ♥ That's such a brave thing to do, something I've never managed, so I wish you the best of luck! But I do know that you will be amazing in everything you set your mind to do, so. All my hearts for you. ♥

ahh, thank you! <33 even though pretty much all the credit goes to the artist, lol. it was probably my favorite piece there, next to "Retrospective"! it looked so different every time i changed the angle of perspective. :D

*hugs!* you're too sweet, mel! i think maybe i'm too impatient? i feel like i'm in a lull at my current job (even though it's only been, what, 2 months)....so i'm creating personal goals in order to feel some sense of accomplishment. (oh haha, funny story: at the airport, one of the news stand cashiers asked me if i was a student. she said, "so....medicine?" and i thought, seriously? NOT ALL ASIANS ARE GOING TO BE DOCTORS. and then i thought of you and a billion other people i know who are on the med-school track. xD)

although, taking the Bar exam for no other reason than to see what it's like may not be the most efficient use of my time, lol. i've been looking into possibly earning a Photography BA, as well, via distance learning. (except the idea of going through interviews again and submitting a portfolio -- oh ( ... )

OMG, ILU. ♥ (well, you already knew that. xD) i feel warm and giddy inside! even if you're not in the big smoke (is this an industrial revolution reference??) over the holidays, i'll hug the door jamb of a random flat and pretend it's yours.

OH MY, A SEXY DAY BED. HOW CAN I REFUSE. <3333 (and yay antiques! :D)

so excited!! ♥ i owe you (and your roommate!) a super-posh dinner for sure. ;D i'll try and confirm how many days i have off, so i can plan accordingly. as it turns out, my family is flying directly to Tokyo then Taipei for the holidays, so if i spend a few days in London, then i might just meet them directly in Taipei....? *squints at Delta website*

oh! also, would i have a bring a heavy jacket or would a raincoat do?

I KID YOU NOT. PRINT OUT THE PICTURES AND TACK THEM TO YOUR WALLS. With, you know, the putty kind of tack not the pointy kind. No wall damage, and just as pretty. Scotch tape works well.

So...you want to be on Suits? XD

lolol, yes no! i'd be taking it as myself, for sure. with no intention of dealing weed to pay off medical bills. xD

MOTIVATION, Y U SO HARD TO FIND. (man, i don't remember what percentile i was in after i took my SAT/ACTs....97?? i even took one of those idiotic Saturday morning Princeton review things at my mother's behest....and ended up with the exact same score. STANDARDIZED TESTS DON'T LOVE ME. DDD:)

looooool, i don't know about sophisticated~ but it might seem that way because i leave out unsophisticated parts of my day, like stuffing my face with a bag full of popcorn. xD

eee, thank you! ♥

Gorgeous, gorgeous pics. Makes me wish I could see these pieces live -- so, well-done showcasing these local talents!

thank you, bb!! i think some of the work is especially cool because they were created with the museum in mind. "Pulse Point" was centered around the architecture itself, and "The Day It Rained Silver" was painted to cover an entire wall.

"Retrospective" isn't particularly cohesive but it's an incredibly lovely experimental piece, and the artist composed the music, too! it's only about 8 minutes, if you want to watch it here. :D
