I just read several reviews of this film that turned me off to it. And since most of them mentioned the graphic, graphic violence, I think I'll steer away from it. Not a violence kind of person.

But hey! A new fandom! \o/ It is a joyous day!

yep, it's incredibly graphic but stylized in a way that makes it seem absurd -- in the manner of Pulp Fiction, 300, Kill Bill, etc. if none of those films put you off, then Drive definitely wouldn't put you off either. in any case, different strokes and all that! i suppose i have a bit of bloodlust in me, with the amount of violent action movies i see, lol.

JOYOUS DAY, INDEED. ♥

Ooooh, I want to see that movie! I love Carey Mulligan. And then, of course, I will be able to fully appreciate this drabble. ;)

yes, you should!! i've been reccing the film like crazy to anyone within a 5-mile radius of me, lol. ahh, Carey Mulligan is amazing -- i loved her in Never Let Me Go, but unfortunately her character in Drive is pretty one-dimensional. she does well with what little she was given, though. :)

(blagh, my writing has been utter crap lately. i don't know what's going on! ;___;)

Oh I am glad that you liked Drive. I've wanted to see it for some time but wasn't sure if it was any good.

it's violent, to be sure, but it's very well directed and a fresh take on the kind of car movies that were made in the '80s. also, if you're a fan of Ryan Gosling's acting, his performance in Drive is not to be missed. :)
