The Young Ones drinking game:
I didn't make this up; I found it via a Google search. It looks like great fun. If you can remember even half of the extensive rules, you'll be totally arse faced by the end of your 2nd episode--ESPECIALLY if you play the, "Bordering on Suicidal," version. Have any of you already tried this? If so, how did it go?
General Rules
Take a drink for each of the following events:
*Hallucinations (those weird little scenes that have a random segue in or out and have little to no plot value)
*Stove explodes
*Explosions not caused by explosive devices
*Horrible musical act
*Something really exciting/interesting happens & no-one notices (2 drinks if they do notice)
*Someone's bedroom is on fire
*Fart gags (2 drinks if someone actually farts)
*The lads play characters other than themselves
*One of the lads uses another's classic lines (Neil talks about Cliff Richard, Vyvyan talks about lentils, etc.)
*Dinner is on the floor
*Anyone says "He's right, y' know" (2 drinks for "He's wrong y' know")
'Bordering on Suicidal' General Rules [Optional]:
*Breaking the 4th wall
*Really Bad special effects
*TV/Literature/Music reference/re-enactment
*Any time something happens that should kill/maim a character (2 drinks if they actually do die)
*Pig gags (incl. entire scenes w/ idiot pigs)
*Animal puppets/inanimate objects/non-human entities discuss socio-political theories
Individual Character Rules:
Rik
Drink when:
*He says/calls anyone "fascist" (2 if they actually are being fascist)
*Talks about his bottom/being raped
*Is accused of being gay
*Does something flamingly gay
*Claims something asinine he did was a joke. 2 if it was a joke.
*Mentions Cliff Richard/Devil Woman
*The People's Poet appears
*Reads/writes bad poetry
Mike
Drink when he:
*Has a blow-up doll
*Has women's undergarments
*Remains calm when everyone else is panicking
*Says, "Sleep on it."
*Makes a corny/incomprehensible analogy. 2 if he admits it makes no sense.
*Appears wearing a new outfit.
*Wears something other than lounge lizard suit.
*Talks about himself in the 3rd person
*Makes a room into a roller disco/entertainment venue
Vyvyan
Drink when:
*He breaks dishes
*He hits someone over the head (so that's 2 drinks if he hits someone over the head w/ dishes)
*Something gets stuck through his head (his stars don't count)
*He attacks an animal
*He uses his head as a bashing device
*He puts a hole in the wall (so that's 2 if he bashes a hole through the wall w/ his head)
*2 if he acts like a wussy/sycophant
Neil
Drink when he:
*Says something stupid but correct
*Gets called a hippy
*Talks about Lentils
*Tries to be deep (so that's 2 if he tries to be deep, is stupid but right)
*Talks about killing himself. 2 drinks if anyone notices/cares.
*Does some stupid hippy activity (meditates, draws astrological chart, etc.)
*2 drinks if he smiles.
Alexei
Drink when he:
*Shrieks uncontrollably (once per series of shrieks)
*Narrates/discusses his own character
*Sings
*Mentions Coca-Cola/"American" things (as Landlord Balowski)
*Appears as anyone other than a Balowski
*Says something indicating his Communist background/tendencies
