10 Reasons Why I Ship Veronica Mars and Logan Echolls:
1. Because she was his friend, too.
One of the things I love most about this couple is that they have so much history with each other. Before Veronica and Logan were enemies, they were friends for four years. That's why, after a year spent tormenting each other for kicks (or, as Logan called it--"foreplay"), they were able to become friends again, and then, eventually, something more. They've been through a lot together, and that's something neither one of them can forget.
2. Because she is a shoulder he can cry on.
3. Because he returns the favor.
4. Because he always comes to her rescue.
Veronica has proven time and again that she can take care of herself. But, for those times when she needs a little help (and, sometimes, even whe she doesn't), Logan's got her back.
5. Because they are a complicated, hot mess.
For starters, she was the girlfriend of his best friend, who was also her best friend's brother. He was the on-and-off-again boyfriend of her murdered best friend, who was also her boyfriend's sister. He blames her for pointing suspicion towards his best friend and murdered girlfriend's grieving family. She blames him for having her ostracized and incessantly ridiculed by their peers. She had him arrested in front of the entire school for possession of drug paraphernalia (that she planted in his locker). He used a crowbar to smash the headlights of her car while she watched along with her (only) new friend.
And that's all in the pilot episode.
6. Because they make a great team.
Logan and Veronica have a lot in common. They are cynical, smart, funny, determined, and resourceful--oh, and they both might know how to hold a grudge. ;P And, if there is one thing in which they both excel, it is manipulation.
It's these shared traits (however flattering or unflattering they may be) that allow them to work so well together when they have a common goal.
7. Because their chemistry is palpable.
8. Because they are epic.
9. Because they love each other.
10. Because they are forever.

Why This Must Be Read: There is epic-length fanfiction, and, then, there is "The Year of Living Dangerously, Part 2." This is the sequel, of course, to "The Year of Living Dangerously, Part 1" (103k words), which is also a wonderful story. If you're willing to give up on sleep for a while, I would highly recommend this incredibly addictive, masterfully written futurefic, in which Veronica, Logan, and Keith investigate the murder of Hannah Griffith. It's phenomenal.
