I really just have immense hearts for you. I love, love, LOVE the panels and the story they tell, and I am painfully in love with the last line of the analysis. This is so gorgeous.

::blush:: Thanks!

The idea that Balthier accidentaly helped finance this display won't leave my mind.

That seems 110% reasonable.

Belatedly-- I like the entwining of past, present and future (Joshua 'Johnsson' being precisely the obvious one, if he's been to Lea Monde?) in this, the irony of the window's particular recasting of the story of Cid, Venat and Balthier (no Vayne, no judiciary, no grand political narrative of empires and kingdoms, but tragedy on a very personal scale), the pursuit of knowledge as potentially corrupting, as something Callo means to get around to, since she apparently hasn't by the time of Vagrant Story.

Cid as a saint in the Iocusian church is also amusing, when he went to such efforts to 'debunk' the Gods.

Josh is the obvious one, yes. mm.

When you reduce the stories in Matsuno games to their human elements, the themes of fathers and sons and turning one's back on convention and devoted sacrifice...it gets even more interesting.
