Seeking recs for A Knight's Tale and The Closer

I just rewatched A Knight's Tale yesterday and was reminded of just how awful Jocelyn (the main female character) is (she's very much a woman as written by men).  Thus, I'd like some fics featuring Kate (aka the smith aka the awesome female character).  I'll take gen and/or Kate/anyone (though I have a soft spot for Kate/Geoff

One of my all time favorites: Turning Of The Seasons on ff.net. It's Adhemar/Christina (Jocelyn's maid) and Will/Kate (hope you like that) and here's the summary (by the author): The future didn't turn out as planned. Adhemar married Jocelyn and she has died, leaving William Thatcher's son behind. Adhemar must decide where to go from here.

It's epic and I loved all the drama and the apprehension and Adhemar was really well-written (everyone else was, too, but I think it really takes a very, very good writer to write Adhemar in-character and still make the reader sympathetic with him). I really hope you like it :)

This sounds *perfect*! I love stories that manage to find the human side of bad guys (and I like the idea of Will/Kate -- if Will hasn't lost so much of my respect by 'loving' a character as lame as Jocelyn, Will/Kate would probably be my OTP).

Well, Will/Kate is my OTP for A Knight's Tale because, you know, they never actually showed Will marrying Jocelyn so it's easy to pretend he didn't ;)

I like to think that he wized up. Or, you know, her father refused to let them get married (at least as likely:)

Oh, I love A Knight's Tale!! Never really felt much for Will/Kate, but after watching the deleted scenes I started liking the idea of Kate & Wat. The scene's at night at Will's camp, it shows Jocelyn/Will running off, Christina/Roland skipping away giggling, and chaucer is canoodling with his wife... leaving Kate and Wat glancing awkwardly at each other. Wat looks away and then turns back to her about to say something, but she already started walking off... I just thought it was super cute (even if he isn't highly attractive). I've tried searching for fic, but sadly found nothing worth reccing...

I'd love to read Kate/Wat, especially as the actor who plays him went on to moderate fame in Firefly and Dollhouse, which makes me like him even more:)
