Let's rant about snow, since everyone else in Seattle is.

Keep in mind that I don't expect my friends to be the dumb people I'm complaining about.

I'm incredibly thankful that my work was closed today (first time EVAR!).
I did a little driving yesterday and...well, after having someone who didn't bother to wipe the snow off his rear windshield start backing into me, I decided that was enough of that.
The roads aren't good, that's for sure. But it's not the roads I'm concerned about. I wasn't swerving into anything stationery.
It's the crazy drivers that scare the hell out of me.
When the roads are full of either cocky assholes in big trucks who try to pass everyone or non-acclimated drivers who are TOO CAUTIOUS and do things like, say, brake while going down a hill (and slide all over) or slow waaaaaaaaaay down before going up a hill (and don't get enough momentum to make it up said hill), that's what's scary.
I can handle myself out there. My car is good, my tires are good, and I have years of experience driving in this.
I can't handle myself when surrounded by other people who think the only key to driving in snow and ice is to do the same things as usual, only slower.
Yes I know there aren't enough plows/sanders/salt trucks/etc., but that's not an excuse to be a dangerous driver.
If you don't know what you're doing, PLEASE make your way to the closest big empty parking lot and play around a little. That's how you learn.
If you don't feel safe about doing that but you're still trying to get to the mall for that last bit of holiday shopping, then kindly get the fuck off the road.
Seriously.
