Essentially, Canada stands up for himself in a sort of tired way after being mistaken for America and chewed out majorly. Cue another nation to give him comfort~! (And maybe sex.)

I have no sex in this piece, sorry. There's Netherlands and Ukraine being Canada's bffs, though. I probably missed what the OP was looking for, but I tried.

As soon as the meeting was finished Ukraine stood up, gathered her papers, dodged her little brother and sister and neighbours, and made her way to the doors. Netherlands, who sat further down the table, was already there. They shared a short look and proceeded, side-by-side, down the hall.

“He’s prob’ly just sulkin’ in his room right now,” Netherlands said, smiling a little. Ukraine only managed a half-smile. “God, why aren’t France an’ England comin’, too?” he sighed, sounding annoyed.

“Perhaps they are busy,” Ukraine suggested. She didn’t really believe that, but she felt it was only polite to give them a little benefit of the doubt.

In reality, she doubted they were really concerned at all. It was often enough that Canada had been mistaken for his brother, and he’d always been forgiving, if not slightly sarcastic, about it. They had likely seen him leave a room like that before. It likely hadn’t tugged at their heartstrings as it had Ukraine’s. It still stung a little to think about, actually.

Love how their relationship in this, the way they talk to each other and the link between all three of them.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted writer!anon! I feel so much for Canada and I'm glad he got some comfort from his bffs ('cause that is the best kind of comfort) and I could totally see Ukraine and the Netherlands as Canada's bffs ( I mean, its usually Cuba with him so this was an EXCELLENT change). And the little details like Prussia and Canada's pancakes (orgasmic!) and the history and tulips (how did you know I was a history nerd?) and the Ukraine/Canada love!

It was so nice seeing Canada interacting with nations besides America, England, France or Cuba! He seemed like a better developed character having these two as friends. And it was such a cute fic too! <3

Netherlands and Ukraine as Canada's BFF's. This has been head-canon for me for a long time, so I loved what you did with this. So lovely.

Only two things this time, I think.

First, the title and Netherland's line come from the motto of Quebec, which translates into "I remember".

Second, the line about Finland complaining is a very off-handed reference to the Helsinki Complaints Choir (look 'em up on YouTube if you're curious). Everything else here about Netherlands' and Ukraine's relationship with Canada can actually be found on Wikipedia's pages on Canada's foreign relations.
