52 Words for Snow [6/??] anonymous August 14 2009, 13:59:47 UTC
-Late September 1958-

Russia understood what was going on. Perfectly.

He could easily translate those French and Spanish whispers, echoing through the darkness. Verbal evidence appearing before him, words in flashes of white and grey before his very eyes. Even the lowliest person, without the slightest understanding of anything, other than their first grunted utterance, could see what was happening. What would predictably come.

That is until the screen started flickering, and suddenly went dead. Right in the middle of the movie no less.

“Oye, fije la proyector!”, a Spanish man called out a few seats in front of Ivan, far off to the left corner of the theater. The teenage girl curled up against the shouting male, added an irate little huff, annoyed that the French film she’d most likely broken curfew to see, was being postponed ( ... )

Directly following Chapter 6

America was in quite the pickle. Well besides his obvious situation, preparing how to explain to Russia that the bump, hidden beneath his zipped-up bomber coat, was actually his next state and was the combined product of their private meetings.

Another problem Alfred was faced with, was what to do with the food and vodka he guaranteed would be waiting in the apartment(Whether Russia was being facetious or not, America knew his own appetite would cave eventually.), and whether or not he should have everything lain out on the table, or burrowed away in the fridge and cupboards.

On one hand, he wanted to make some small effort towards a polite gesture, that might convince Russia to temporarily halt any production of nuclear arms, for the sake of his next born.
-On the other hand, America didn’t want to appear weak, throwing himself at the feet of that commie-jerk-SOB, AND IF HE WAS HUNGRY HE COULD JUST GET OFF HIS ASS AND GET IT HIMSELF!!He had a good, oh,18 minutes and 13 seconds ( ... )

That day, America learned he should never calculate landmass with a mouth full of black (decaff) coffee, because the spit-take nearly ruined the updated new map his boss had sent him.

...2 times the size of Texas...
420 times the size of Rhode Island...-And he thought his 28th state was a long --painful-- struggle to bring into the world ( ... )

‘Well this is going great,’ that rarely acknowledged, cynical voice in America’s head groaned, ‘He probably thinks I’m going to try and poison him or-’

*THUNK*A right boot, crusted with age, belonging to the leg of the seated Red, landed soundly on the table-top ( ... )

Alfred was preparing to gloat how his weapons had topped off the pile, when the white reflections of steel grazed his frames. A sword, easily mistakable for a very, very long knife, was pulled out from behind Russia’s back and over his head, as smoothly as a handkerchief from a magician’s sleeve. America now had a suspected conclusion, as to why is was Ivan sat and stood so upright the many times they met. It wasn’t just to intimidate the shorter nations, that was certainly clear.

The armed nation inspected his blade, nearly long as his arm and clean as freshly lain snow, practically singing like a siren in the light. “Ach, it seems to have come loose from it’s case.” Ivan said, rising to remove his coat and unstrap the belts tightened over his shoulders.

“Whu-hut’s...uh...” America said, bumbling any commentary he’d preserved, about Russia totally unsheathing a fuckin’ sword from his back, and found he was unable to brand this as really cool or flat out terrifying ( ... )

I second the adorableness of the baby bump!

I love so much about this -- America worrying over his new state, trying not to constantly check to see if it's kicking yet, references to the other states, the TOMAHAWK (and what it symbolizes), and just EVERYTHING.

You know, I just updated my own fill too when I saw this update. That's like, a reward for my updating I think. WOHOO!! God loves me and shows me by giving me mpreg Hetalia ficcage!

Poor Rhodey, it must suck to be the smallest of 48 (soon to be 39, then 50.)

Poor America, there's a lot to worry about with Alaska, between the state's father, the fight over statehood, the earthquake, and further on, the high drug and crime rates.

Aw, America, don't you know? Russia missed you :)

I love his thought processes, especially when Al is trying to avoid looking week as much as possible.

Oh my, the history you put/imply about the weapons...I think I am in love with you.

I never thought of disarming as sexy before...and now it's stuck in my head. In a very good way :)

"Liberate me..." Oh Ivan, hehehe.

Evil cliff hanger! (But I understand your reasons, and when you are not on the wrong end, it's fun. )

I am so looking forward to the next one, this so made my day.
(P.S I'm the anon who scared her roommate squealing at the one with Hawaii. I am really glad she's not around today because I would have really scared her with this one.)

Weeell, it only figures the child of the largest country on Earth ought to be pretty big himself... XD Even so, fucking ow for Alfred, that childbirth is gonna hurt like a bitch.

And GAH DO NOT STOP THERE DAMMIT. D< Loved the whole disarming competition, though. Russia and the sword = ♥

I found the image of Roger miserably shoving pies into his mouth ADORABLE.
And the image of Alfred and Russia having an arm race right there in living room? PRICELESS. My jaw also dropped open when Russia pulled that shashka out of nowhere. These two were just full of surprises for each other this day, weren't they? :D Of course, Alfred still had one more surprise for Russia...

I think Russia is going to be happy... he may or may not show it, but he is going to absolutely love his kid nonetheless. He is Mother Russia after all :D And I can see how he's probably going to be protective about America and the baby to the point of possessive... let's hope the parents won't start a custody battle before Alaska is even born...
