"Ah.. It hurts." muttered a small America clutching his chest. He lay in his bed, face flushed with heat, eyebrows furrowed in pain. England sat in a wooden chair next to the boys bed, moping the sweat from his younger brother's brow with a cool washcloth. His eyebrows matched the furrowing of the small boy in the bed, but his from worry. America had been feeling ill, and England had been doing his best as an older brother to care for him, but as much as he tried nothing he did seemed to help. The pain appeared to be getting worse, not better, and the evidence of that was an angry welt that seemed to grow bigger every day down the middle of America's chest

The door closed and the sounds of banging pots and pans began to make their way to America from the other room. It was then that a wind began to stir in Alfred's room. Eyes half lidded in pain and with shallow breaths he pushed himself up in bed. Glancing at the window he noticed that it was closed. Confusion set in as the wind began to swirl more quickly around the room, rustling his hair and cooling his skin. Suddenly the winds gathered at the foot of Alfred's bed, collecting to make a small whirlwind. Then suddenly, with a flash a man stood in the room

Some time later England entered the room with a hot liquid he thought he'd call soup (no one else would) to see Alfred sleeping peacefully. With a smile he set the soup down on the chair in case America would be hungry later when he woke up and then went to bed himself. England was still sleeping soundly when the first rays of light came into America's room to splay across his face. With a moan Alfred rubbed his eyes and turned away from the window. What a strange dream that was... he thought drifting back to sleep. When he woke up in the morning his fever was gone, England was happy and cold "soup" was waiting for him.
He conveniently forgot to wonder about the angry scar on his hand.

The Devil In Me {Chapter 1}
When dealing with devils, there are a couple of things you should know. The first of these is that devils aren't really devils at all. Well, actually, saying that they weren't always devils is probably more accurate (though honestly it depends on who they were before). All devils, every single one of them, used to be something else. They used to be human. Devils weren't born, they were made from humans who sold their souls for earthly pleasures, and when these soulless beings died, and left those pleasures behind, that's when they paid their price. They became devils. Wealth, fame and power were all things that could be easily achieved for the small fee of eternal damnation. To some the cost seemed worth it

They each knew each other, real selves and not, but it had become somewhat of a joke of their master that they refer to each other using different names. No one knew why, perhaps he found calling them by their female or roman names funny? In either case these devils, despite being their selves other halves, were not the personified nations. No, they were devils, they dealt in souls, not politics. Having another name felt... appropriate

"Like, why do we have to keep having meetings and stuff?" asked Polonia lounging on the second step of the stairs that circled their meeting room. The entire room was made of red clay with a pit in the center of an unmeasurable depth. In the pit was a fire, and the room's only source of light and warmth. The fire had never gone out and probably never would. No one knew why, though they suspected it had something to do with the fact that they were in hell

"C'lumbia." said Svea in a voice of gratitude. Finally he was here and they could start the meeting.
Columbia frowned at the greeting turning his ram horned head to Svea, "I wish you guys would call me Jersey Devil, everyone else does."
Columbia folded his arm's across his chest. His long forked tail curling around his waist and his white leathery wings, almost as large as Svea's moved out slightly with Columbia's aggravation before returning to their folded position. Like Svea, Columbia had hooved feet.
"Like, OW, that's just cause, OOOOW, CAULI SERIOUSLY, CUT IT OUT! They don't know what a pretty, CAULI I SWEAR, name you have." said Polonia. His mangled sentence took Columbia a few minutes to decipher.
"Hey! Like Polonia is any better!" he said when he finally figured out that Polonia was insulting him, however his words were completely ignored, for it was at this moment that Romulus finally managed to tug Cauli off the feather-winged devil
