England is staying over at America's, either for business or just for fun. England asks America if he's grown up enough that ghost stories and scary movies don't scare him anymore and America insists that he has.
That night, America sees a movie/has a bad dream that's so scary that he starts crying once he's alone in his room with the light off. He's so terrified that he can't sleep but is too ashamed to seek comfort from England. England senses that something is wrong, comes into America's room to check on him and finds America in tears. He climbs into bed with America and comforts him, telling him in his tsundere way that he can always come to him without having to worry about being teased if he's scared. Eventually, America calms down enough to fall asleep in England's arms.

“Heroes aren‘t scared of anything, old man. I mean, if your face hasn‘t scared me away yet, why should I be scared of something like this?” Alfred Jones smirked around a cup of coffee before downing half of its contents

Finally making a choice, Alfred folded the edges of the blankets under his body, making him look like he was a giant caterpillar, or like he was in a sleeping bag. This way, nothing could come in, nothing could get out

This is so sweet, anon <3 This is totally what I wanted. And the idea of America having the light-switch-to-bed dash down to an art is fabulous. I look forward to the conclusion ^_^

When they were settled, Arthur held his brother tighter and whispered into his ear, “I’m here, Alfred. Nothing’s going to get to you. Ever. I promise. Whenever you’re scared, I’ll be here to keep all the things frightening you away

Don't worry about it, author!anon. I really liked this, despite your misgivings. My only critique is that I wish it had been slowed down a little so that I could have time to really appreciate the image of England comforting America for once, but other than that it was precious. I really liked America's line about England taking over his job for a night <3 Thanks for the speedy fill, anon!
I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm so so sorry

half-assed!anon is half-assed. I'm real sorry that I messed this up. I've been stuck doing pages of schoolwork so, like them, I was kinda in the habit of rushing things. I am ashamed that I actually posted it like this...
OP yet again

I do the same exact thing and always end up feeling rotten about it afterward Hey, it's understandable. But I wouldn't complain if you decide to come back and post a revamped version ;)
