Anon apologizes for any awkward tense shifts you may finds, as she switch the tense of the fic about three times before she was happy with it;;; **** It’s too quiet.
Ludwig cannot place what, exactly, is out of place; but, there is something missing and he wants to know what.
However, work comes first; before there will be any heading off on some frivolous mission that will probably only reveal that Gilbert has rearranged his furniture, or that someone has closed the door to the clock storage room, Ludwig was going to complete all of his paperwork.
So Ludwig methodically works his way through the stack of documents on his desk, stopping only for meal breaks, and then to thoroughly clean the kitchen afterward. By the time he has all the paperwork completed, checked, double-checked, and sorted for delivery at a later date, it’s time for a few rounds of beer with Gilbert at the local bar then off to bed in preparation for the next day.
He wakes up knowing exactly what has been so wrong.

He is just finishing when Feliciano rolls to face him and says that he needs to use the bathroom again. Ludwig sighs, carefully put his papers on the small table beside the bed, and helps Feliciano up and to the bathroom once more

Ludwig takes the time to wonder if maybe he should just have made spätzle and hoped Feliciano couldn’t tell the difference in his convalescing state. It certainly would have taken him less time and resulted in fewer insults to his person

The next morning he wakes up when Feliciano jumps on him. Ludwig’s eyes snap open and the first thing he sees is Feliciano about two inches away from his face, looking and acting completely normal, as if he was never sick. He also has no pants on, like normal

I wish there had been space when I noticed you first posted this. Anyway, if you ever come back here I'd like you to know I really enjoyed it. I think my favorite part may be the way you did Germany. He's so bad at normal human things it's adorable~ I could really feel through his point of view with reguards to Italy too. It's all very real somehow. Thank you.
Why are there none of these already?
