The tumult in France had largely subsided by the time Francis was ready to sail for America. He needed some time away to clear his mind of the intrigues and assassinations of the French court, and was willing to brave an Atlantic winter crossing to do so. Besides, it had been too long since he'd laid eyes on the verdant forests and bustling cities that Alfred called his own

Louise-Anne began to giggle. Suddenly remembering the presence of the children, Alfred pulled away and gave Francis a friendly slap on the back. "Sit down and have dinner with us. Apple tarts

Soon all the house was asleep but for Francis and Alfred. The candles were almost burnt out when Alfred said, "You've been staring at me for a while now. What are you thinking about?"
Francis arched a brow. "I was thinking --" how lovely and bountiful your home is -- "how you look tonight. You are truly --" happy here, aren't you? You seem to cherish all your children, no matter who fathered them "-- glorious tonight, mon coeur. I would love to --" stay here with you, with them, forever. But I cannot. I have troubles at home, wars to fight, love to make -- "show you how glorious."
Alfred flushed and looked at him askance, sensual, inviting. Slowly he stood up and said, "I think it is time we went to bed."
Francis lept to his feet. "You've never spoken more truth, AmeriqueThey never made it to bed. They did make it as far as the kitchen table. Alfred bit his lip to keep from moaning aloud, and at the moment of climax he covered Francis' mouth with his hand to keep him from waking the children. They lay there, half-dozing, for

As requested, a cast list!
Human Name/State/Father Elizabeth Jones/Virginia/England Malcolm Jones/Massachusetts/England Connor Jones/Connecticut/England Georgianna Jones/Georgia/England Veronique Jones/Vermont/France Kenneth Jones/Kentucky/England Terrence Jones/Tennessee/England Owen Jones/Ohio/England Louise-Anne Jones/Louisiana/France Isaac Jones/Indiana/Canada Melissa Jones/Mississippi/England Isidore Jones/Illinois/France Alfredo Jones/Alabama/Spain Mary Jones/Maine/England Michel Jones/Missouri/France
Due to the sheer number of states I didn't mention most of America's New England states, but rest assured they were present. My apologies if your state didn't appear!
The tumult France notes in the beginning is the assassination of Charles, duc de Berry, in February 1820.
Alabama wears a blue sash because, in this era, boys and girls were dressed alike as babies, and only the colors of their sashes would identify their gender.

OP here and just... just astounded at how lovely this turned out! You combined my love for sweet family moments and my love for France/America, and my love for historical details, and oh!, just so many other things. You have no idea how much you just made my day. This was beautiful. Alfred really shone, and Francis was lovely, tired and worn by his wars but still the charmer, and such a sweet father too. And the kids - adorable! Thank you so much!
I hope it's all right that I share this at a couple of communities with listings for kink meme fills (one for America and his states, and one for France/America)? I'd like others to be able to read this gorgeous fill as well! Of course, you'll welcome to de-anon and post there as well, but I just really want to share it.

This made me smile like a dork. Mostly because of France's longing for America's domestic life with all the children and how naturally he fits into it. ♥
