The ache was a solid pressure in his chest, widening and stretching with every breath. Even so, the dull pain of it was satisfying and warm. A laugh welled in the back of Prussia’s throat and then became audible as a low vibration that didn’t quite part his lips

...O.O i think i just came shuddering. wow. oh wow. god. i'm still shivering. they...man. sorry. i'm so incoherent. but. wow. the interplay. the situation. the fucking awareness between the two. i really can't wait for more.

That was... gah. Really, really nice. I can't even find words to tell you how much I like this. My favorite line: "A smile curved the Spaniard’s lips as if to say good boy." Seriously, wow. And that last line? That last line killed me dead. Way to go, author!anon. You win at life.

Spain’s answer came in two ways: first in an almost gentle curve of his lips, and second in the flat of his axe as it connected violently with the side of Prussia’s head

this. this is fucking brilliant. and the most thrilling foreplay i have ever read. the easy casual violence is sensual in that its mutually acknowledging. and spain is so...that easy mocking humour. and prussia admits and factors in the other's cunning. love this.

Oh gawd I almost posted my comments at the wrong fic. OTL
The imagery of them fighting, like a kind of dance, is entrancing and intoxicating. The way you describe Spain here is like the matador, lightly stepping, narrowly avoiding, thrusting in, playing with danger. The thrill of the whole thing. That image comes to mind when I read that section.
The way it contrast with Prussia's more direct and raw but still calculative approach, it's... breath-taking. It's been a while reading a fic with fight scenes, not just plain fist-fights or anything, but the exquisite duels. Almost too beautiful to watch.
