France watched as the small nation slept, blissfully dead to the world. The workings of a smile played on the elder’s lips, but it was a smile he would not have allowed if young England had been awake

He shut his eyes and turned up his face, allowing the sun to wash over his features. The blaze pierced his closed lids but England gave it no mind and simply allowed himself to bask in the warmth. England was well accustomed to being cold and wet, but the warmth spreading through him was a welcomed change

Only they couldn’t. The whole idea was a cruel joke, they were too different, didn’t fit. England didn’t fit this image of beauty and grace and warmth. His home was the island. His cold wet little island where his siblings wanted to rip him asunder and spill his insides and that France would eventually abandon just like everyone else

Once again, England was left breathless as the other child stopped his assault. But the young green eyed child was not perturbed and attempted yet again, throwing himself onto the other child. This time England tried a different approach, going straight for the upper body. A few soft giggles emitted from the blue eyed child and England decided that he was on the right track. His hands started to move, searching for that sweet spot - and he was not disappointed

Now England was alone, because he’d always been alone. And oh how that hurt, how he wanted to rip out his heart and never have to deal with these horrid emotions ever again. How he wanted to beat and maim and devastate that small weeping inner child that knew every ache of his soul. To wipe that horrible thing stained in his image off the face of the earth so that it could never remind him of what he would never have

When I think of England I think of extremes. Call it a personal head-canon, but working with chibi!England gave me a chance to work with a side of England that I don't see (personally I mean, I'm sure there are lots of fics out there with him being rather playful) while he's older, yet still having the essential abandonment issues that I think define England very distinctively.
None the less! I'm very happy that you enjoyed the fill! Thank you so much for the comment!

He breaks my heart too, I teared up while writing it...
I think his relationship with those early characters is central to a lot of his personality, back then and in modern age. I think using Chibi!England is just a simpler way of showing it.
Another random personal head-canon, mostly because I'm horrible at grammar spelling and pronunciation ( when someone tells me I'm saying something wrong I laugh and tell them I'm saying it right somewhere.), and American. Honestly, I don't think England is much better, but the language is his, so he feels very strongly that it should be said 'his way', even if he totally makes it up. Head cannon, its a funny thing some times...

This was so beautiful... it's poignant and touching and so sad, because everything that will happen later, but- awwww, it was gorgeous. The tickling scene was adorable. I want to hold him and squeeze him and never let him go. <3

The request was for use of all these visual symbols to entice and frighten chibi!England, but I've always been more of a subtle symbols person, so I wanted to almost re-enact the revolution in a simper, shorter way that played on the emotions more then the actual imagery. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I've also always wanted to have those two as children just enjoying themselves, cannon or not. That might have actually been the reason for this fill...

Aww~! Chibi UsxChibiUK might be new OTP. I love how you also described Iggy's relationships with Rome, France and his sibs. It was also cool how you hinted were America's name might have come from.

It is totally my favorite OTP, I can't resist anything with them in it except for sexy times, I couldn't possibly stomach that, and couldn't resist an opportunity to actually try it out for myself.
I saw 'Alfred the Great' and knew that was where it had come from. Actually reading about him only made my head canon stronger.

Original artist here! XD Might as well de-anon if I'm going to say that lol
That. Was so beautiful. ;_; The beginning and end were so adorable and fluffy, and the angst in the middle was perfect. I always feel so terrible for Arthur when I think about Alfred's revolution and how badly it tore them apart. >3>
Thank you for such a beautiful fill~! And thanks OP for requesting this sdfskdhfs whoever you are -hugs- XD

I'm so happy you enjoyed it!! Keep drawing such beautiful pictures so people can request stories for them! When I got stuck at a few places, I always referred back to your picture.
My specialty if I can claim to having one is angst. I'm really not good with fluff at all, so I'm really happy the extreme dynamic between the two worked.
I know the revolution was hard on Alfred too, but I always feel worse for Arthur, no matter how I look at it.
