The instant Lithuania opened the door, Poland was inside and hugging him.
"Like, happy independence!" The blond squeezed him tightly, and Lithuania, worried though he'd been about patching up their friendship, found it quite natural to wrap his arms around him in return, patting his back gently. Poland felt much the same in his arms as he always had, for centuries upon centuries, though he smelled different now. Less like a day's work in the fields, more like some flower that Lithuania couldn't quite put a name to.
Too soon, Poland was squirming backwards, trying to get enough space to get a good look at him. "Seriously, like, congrats. But oh, my God, like, what took you so long

"Liiiet," the blond scolded, brushing Lithuania's hair back from his face. "You're like, making a face. That's so not cool, you know!"
Lithuania laughed. Nothing could keep Poland down for long... as he ought, by now, to have expected. "Aren't I always making a face? It can't really be helped..."
"The worried one. Totally lame, Liet!"
Wrapping his arms around Poland's waist, Lithuania kissed his cheek. "I'll work on that."
Poland leaned forward into the hug, dropping his voice to a whisper in Liet's ear.
"I could totally help you chill out, you know..."
"P-Poland!"

Wonderful, anon!!! This Lietpol loving anon absolutely adored it!!!!!
Also, major props to you for not ignoring the Vilnius issue. Too many times lietpol writers shy away from it, or ignore it, when in actuality the issue has alot of fodder for relationship and character development, and delicious angst in fanfics about these two, which there usually isn't alot of (unless it's a Russ/Liet with Poland portrayed as a jerk-ass).
I must say I really did like your portrayal of the event alot, with the "I love you" and "I want to be my own country," so it didn't feel like the I'm-poland-and-I'm-gonna-take-you-over-cuz-i-want-to that I usually see whenever Vilnius is mentioned. Looking at both sides of the history it's pretty much impossible to pick a "good guy" and "bad guy" in many international conflicts such as that.
AUTHORANON ;w; I don't know what to say except that these two are so adorable together~ I love love love the historical references (AND USE OF LANGUAGES. even though it was tiny, OP has a huge language kink *o*)
Can't say that I've actually read much of LietPol, but I you are making me rethink that, Authoranon. I'd also just like to say that IV breaks my heart in the best of ways. I'm such a sucker for angst. D:

I laughed. I cried. I blushed. I fell out of my chair laughing again. Truly, this is the mark of a good fic.

1569 - The Union of Lublin. Poland's queen marries Lithuania's Grand Duke, creating the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. That's not quite true. The union with marriege (Jadwiga and Jagiełło) was in 1385; in 1569 the union was just singed and the Commonwealth created. Sorry but I just couldn't leave it ^^'

China’s eyes scanned the bleak horizon that floated on the seam of the murky waters off of the dock, as if lights refraction was causing a mirrored reflection and tricking his eyes. Thick clouds stacked like lumpy marshmallows with black tones among them, though muted by the fluffy clouds that yielded no precipitation surfed on the edges of the gently tumbling waters, as gray as a silky down feather. Don't worry about the wordiness~ Lots of words are nice, and I love your use of imagery~ Especially in the beignning with the dock.
I also love how Yao freaks out over how Yong Soo is holding a parasol and makes to correct his hand position. (I have a soft spot in my heart for BigBrother!China D:) And d'aww Yong Soo jumping around in puddles <3
Last line makes me giggle~ I hope you add more to this soon, Authoranon :3
