Life Without Humans

It has been 5000 years since humans have come and gone.
Leaving the Nations who have mysteriously stuck around, confused and disorientated. Why have they stuck around when other personifications (Rome, Germania, HRE, etc.) have perished?
They still have their human bodies but due to only having animals inhabiting the lands, they are slowly growing animalistic feautures.
Don't tell me anon, that you aren't curious as to how they have faired since humans left?

England sighed and continued towards his house, opening the creaking wooden door with a good kick. It swung on its rusted hinges and both sets of Arthur's ears pricked up immediately at the sound of his cookery pot bubbling in the kitchen. He hadn't left it on before

Fire, the earliest element man had learned to control. England had recently lit one to warm a bath for America, and had moved the heavy tin tub into the utility room (which adjoined the kitchen) while he prepared dinner in the primitive cauldron, the two chickens from earlier

Writhing around as if trying to escape the clutches of a nightmare, Belarus was sobbing and shaking beneath the crude animal skins, wincing as she kept trying to roll onto her new wings
