I love the fics of America getting scared by a horror movie and getting comforted by Russia, so let's see that scenario flipped, neh?
I'd like to see Russia staying the night at America's house and getting scared out of his mind by a thunderstorm. He's done a pretty good job of keeping his embarrassing phobia a secret from everyone else and normally he'd just tough it out, but instead he decides to take a chance and shows up at America's bedroom, making up whatever lame excuse you can think of for why they should share a bed tonight. America is confused and annoyed...until he finally figures out that Russia's scared of thunder. Being America, his first response is to tease Russia about it, but when he realizes that Russia's actually pretty upset, he agrees to let Russia sleep with him. Cuddles and fluff, plz.
Bonus: Russia actually has a reason to be afraid of thunder (ex, there was a storm when the Mongols first invaded, or during some other kind of traumatic event.)

Russia’s face was buried in America’s collarbone as he began to tell the blond everything Mongolia had done to him or had caused to happen. By the end, he was sobbing, America’s hands on his back or in his hair, body rocking him gently. He was humming some sort of lullaby that Russia guessed one of his many guardians used to sing to him when he was young.
Russia’s sobs started to dwindle down, “Feel better, big guy?”
The larger nation nodded, “Da, a little.”
“Good. Glad to be of help.” Russia stayed perfectly still in America’s arms, warm and content. But then he was slightly confused; trying to remember something he had heard.
Oh.
There it was.
Russia grinned, “By the way, America, have you forgotten your part of the deal?”
“Hm?”
Russia picked himself off from America’s chest and leaned into the other’s face, “I believe that our deal was that if I told you of my fear of thunder that someone else would explain his fear of ghosts. Am I correct?”

America snorted and flipped onto his stomach, burying his face in his pillow, “Long story short: you all have nice shiny fairies and things that do household chores; I get creepy cannibals and whatnot that want to kill me and eat me. Cannibal Woman, the Tsi-Noo, the Wendigo, you know, cheery things like that. Matt’s got ‘em too. OK, bonding time’s over, g’night!”

“I just revealed a traumatic event from my childhood and all I get in return is a small list of bogeymen?”
America sighed, then flipped onto his back and began his own story, “It was way back before the Revolution, back when I was just a small collection of colonies. I was pretty cute back then, you know…all right, getting back to the story. I was actually hanging around France at that time; he was my Papa François then. The Louisiana territory, which was a lot bigger than my baby Lou is now. I remember the day starting off kinda weird. Papa François was letting me collect frogs, something Da…England never let

I thought both of their stories about their fears were very plausible, and the rambling America was so cute! He had ADD in the middle of his own story.
