AN: Not sure of the exact historical setting for this. Hope its not too fail in that regard.
Hong Kong dug his heels into the stone and pulled back uselessly against England, as the nation dragged him by the arm. He was apoplectic with fury, something that Hong Kong observed with a mix of fear and satisfaction.
“Brat,” he spat, tugging Hong Kong roughly around a corner. “After all that I’ve done for you I find you condoning the black market, behind my back.”

Hong Kong kept his hand on the side of Canada’s head. “Sorry,” he whispered.
Canada shook his head and smiled weakly.
The moment was broken by England, saying, “You’re being very impolite, Hong Kong. Canada took very good care of you, now you’re neglecting him.”
Hong Kong’s fist tightened on his thigh and he pulled Canada’s head closer in a protective gesture. Why are you doing this? he almost wanted to shout at the Empire. But, he knew exactly why. England needed to prove that they were inferior, subservient, Hong Kong and Canada both. The next day, he would probably treat them with his usual indifferent gentility. Tonight though, he was showing them who was the empire and who were the colonies.
