England wondered if America would have been surprised at the multitude of people who had come to attend his funeral.

Of course they all came! Everyone loves a hero!Out of tradition they all wore black. America would have hated that, England knew. He had never liked dwelling on the depressing, and had social norms not prevented him, America would have shown up to any funeral wearing something bright and cheery. That way as soon as the body was buried he could skip the mourning and get right on to the happy memories of the deceased. Yet even at his own funeral tradition prevailed. Even the weather seemed to go out of its way to provide a dreary atmosphere ( ... )

Someone was stepping forward. England could hear murmurs as the crowd parted to let the person through. He looked up and saw the Italians walking up to the tomb. The Northern brother had obviously been crying while Romano just looked sullen. The two walked side by side up to Vatican City, who embraced each of them before leading them to America. Both brothers were silent for what seemed like the longest time. Get on with it! He hates waiting! England wanted to shout ( ... )

One by one, other nations walked up to where America slept and said their parting words. Many of them left mementoes, many others cried. Philippines had to be lead away after she collapsed bawling in front of the tomb. England watched them all go. Mexico, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Pakistan set down what looked like a CIA drone. This story is like someone giving out a weak chuckle and smiling through their tears. Really love this so far, anon, and now I'm wondering how America died in the first place.
