Not exactly what OP requested but I couldn't get this idea out of my head for Alter!England and America.
He'd started coming home later and later since that had happened, arriving only a little before midnight and leaving against before dawn, catching a couple of hours in the White House during the day to tide him over before the whole cycle started again

Here we go, the 2nd part featuring Original!England and Alter!America. Companion piece to 'The Chains of Nation'
The hallways of their section of the UN building were strangely quiet. England didn't think that he'd ever seen them so empty, not when there was supposed to be a meeting that morning. It had been bustling last night at the reception, crowded with nations and staff and more wine than most people saw in a year. His head still hadn't forgiven him entirely. At least the silence was probably helping in that regard.
Had there always been so many soldiers outside in the grounds?
He ignored it and pulled away from the window, continuing along his way. These were risky times and while he couldn't help but think that America was being just a little too paranoid sometimes, he also couldn't blame him for it. The UN was a prime target for terrorists he supposed and it was better to be safe than to have to pick up the pieces later.
At night, America whispers history against his skin, into his bones, letting it seep into him. It

America smiles every time he finds England there, flicking through pages hopelessly, slides a hand through his hair and smiles. "You're remembering wrong," he says, taking England‘s hand, pressing a kiss to his palm. "But I'll make you remember, I'll teach you the truth. Aren't you glad that I'm here?"
"Pardon?" France asked, turning to give him a confused look, something strange in his expression once more

A-author!anon, I like this part even better than the first one, as painful as it is. It's so quietly, subtly devastating with just the right casual tone that makes it all the more horrifying. It actually reminds me of 1984 in a way: if everyone else says that something is right, it must be right even if you believe it's wrong. Right?
Now I need to find some fluff to cheer me up, but damn, this fic really proves that simple words and statements can be so much more emotionally impacting than all the flowery prose and imagery in the world.

Author!anon, I thank you for the sequel. I don't know if my shower of love is enough to convince you of my gratitude because this is everything I imagine and more. Should you ever decide to deanon yourself there shall be parades in your honor (okay I'm exaggerating).

This is the anon who requested the sequel and is feeling quite glad that she did. Though America makes no actual appearance in this part, she finds the 'forward'flashes (because this anon doesn't know the actual name of the concept and hopes author!anon will understand) powerful in a way because it shows England's desperation and America being suggestive and patient and ah, so frightening. And oh, the other nation's reaction to England (with France calling him Britannia. Had the alt!England lost his name?) is heartbreaking.
This is amazing and I hope to see you do more fills in the future.
