I've never understood why America always did the asking. I picture England to be the pants of that relationship (British Empire FTW) and America being a Romantic.

So am requesting a UK/US story of England scrambling for an engagement ring, England crusading for a nice location to purpose, and England making the meals---er... forcing France to cook.
