When the East Slavs were little, Lithuania took over Ukraine and Belarus, but left Russia behind. I'd like to see a young Russia going to Lithuania's house (in secret, so the Mongol Empire doesn't find out and punish him) to beg him to give him his sisters back, or if Lithuania couldn't do that, to take Russia in as well so he could at least be with them again (and hopefully be protected by Lithuania from the Mongols.) Lithuania refuses both requests, the first because he thinks the girls are better off with him (in part because Russia isn't strong enough to protect them from the Mongols), and the second because it would be too risky to take Russia since it would have brought down the wrath of the Mongols on Lithuania

He didn't know what distance he had run, nor the length of time it had been since he ran away from Mongolia. Tiny feet made footprints in the snow, but it didn't matter - they'd be covered up anyway.
A blizzard was swooping past and around the boy, desperate to claim his life with its fatally low temperature, low visibility, and clumps of snow that stuck to the skin and froze on contact. He had to constantly keep rubbing his eyelashes to relieve them of the snow, and while Russia was trying his utmost not to cry, he just couldn't help it. Lash-marks stung upon his back, and he was still missing a few front teeth from a primitive pair of pliers that Mongolia and his soldiers had used on him.
"Where is Muscovy?" "Did he start crying again? Soldiers, you know what to do..." "He's being a little bit slow today, put him in the cell for tonight. No food or water."His pace got a little faster, although his heart was telling little Muscovy to stop, lest he overwork himself and get ill. He slipped on some ice underneath the snow and fell
