There have been fills about the critters other countries appear with (Canada and his bear, Australia and his koala, England and his fairies, think I saw one about Iceland and his puffin) so how about Russia with that little snowman Himaruya drew him with?
Since Russia didn't really have any friends when he was little (except for his sisters) he would build snowmen and pretend they were his friends, giving them names and talking to them...and then getting inconsolably heartbroken when his friends melt in the spring and die. Or when the Mongols/Sweden/Poland/invading army of your choice shows up and kicks his snowmen over just to make him cry.
Bonus: He still does this in the present from time to time, when he feels really lonely. Bonus Bonus: Someone catches him doing this (talking to the snowmen, being really upset when the snow melts, etc) Bonus Bonus Bonus: That someone is America.

Russia flung himself onto the bed, small hands grasping fists of coarse material. He pressed his face into the fabric, desperately trying not to let any tears fall from his eyes; Ukraine and Belarus had gone back home, leaving him all alone again. He wished that they could stay with him, a happy family, like all the other children in the area

He then remembers a dark night, coming home from a festival to a house in flames. That was the first time. He can still smell the scent of burning wood, and destruction. Tension so thick in the air it clogs his throat so he can't breath. They come to gloat, to pick on him. He vaguely remembers looking down on his body as those dreadful hands wrap themselves around one of the perpetrator's sons, digits tightening as they look on for a moment, in shock.
Too far. You've gone too farThey throw him away, like dust, while attempting to resuscitate the boy

I'm sorry about the wait and uselessness of this chapter! Hopefully something interesting will happen next part~ I haven't really got the pacing yet, as this is my first multi-chapter that I'm writing in parts. Hope you all enjoy it, especially OP! I sincerely hope this matches up to what you wanted...When Russia arrived, he breathed a relieved sigh, sending spirals of cold vapour up into the atmosphere. The snowstorm has stopped, and through holes in the clouds he could see millions of stars, all glittering as gems thrown across inky black velvet. He wanted to touch them, but no sooner did he see them then they are gone, obscured by clouds

Totally not a useless chapter, anon. I'm loving the interaction between Russia and his snow friends...which means it's going to kill me even more when they 'die.' ;-;

I'm sorry about slow updates, and I think they'll probably continue for a while because I've got exams. But I will try my best, and I hope you enjoy this chapter too!Russia lay back onto the snow, exhausted after his slightly unorthodox lesson in fencing with a pipe. 'Piping', he supposed. Somehow, it didn't sound quite right. He decided to think of it later

I'm extremely sorry for the long wait! I had bouts of writer's block and other things, and in the end, this probably wasn't worth the wait. But I hope you enjoy it anyway! I thunk I'm going to have one chapter after this in the past, then skip to the present.Almost a quarter of a millennium. It was too long. Russia hadn't seen his sisters since that attack, and he had grown immensely, both mentally and physically

"You serious? Only that you're talking to yourself. Or those stupid snow things." Russia stood up, insulted for his friends. How dare Mongolia talk about them like they weren't there? They had been the only things that kept him sane. The Mongol, who had been laughing at his own apparent humour, quickly stopped after looking at Russia's face and the bitter hatred there
