Short fill is short and made of fail. England, here, looks to be about three or four years old, but he's been around for a couple decades or so before now. America has only come to possess him fairly recently. I have a vague idea on why England had died before and the events leading up to here and from here, but this scene would not go the hell away no matter how much planning I wanted to do first. Will probably expand on it later.

I didn't think any fill for this request would make me squiggle with glee like this, but ... D'AAWWWWWWWWWWWW, why so adorable, England 2.0?
Tea was a great thing to center this around, and I love that England can still see the fairies. And that you left it ambiguous as to whether or not America believes in them!
... The thought of Germany scooping up small children is unbearably cute. *_*
You know, I do hope you expand on this later; I really enjoyed this and would love more, be it fluff, angst, or whatever other genre. GJ, anon. :Db
Oops, forgot to add this!

Tiny England is not yet? tsundere! :DDD It would be interesting to see him older and still being himself without ever becoming so emotionally repressed / handicapped / in denial / whatever. Because frankly, without his old history being so immediate and real to him? I can't really see him growing/evolving that way. ... This intrigues me.

Thank you so much for the lovely comment(s)! I was really nervous about posting this, I haven't written in like... four years D=
England has that special curse blessing of "everything small is ridiculously adorable." It was the mental image of an IttyBitty!England with an 'oversized' teacup that inspired this, in fact. Though you're right, without his old history, it's borderline impossible he'd grow up into the same person/Nation he was before. He might have certain inclinations (his tsundere isn't entirely missing in this 'verse), but with no memories and massive immigration/influence from other countries, America isn't going to get 'Old England' back no matter how he might try. Which is what I wanted to get across in this fic, so I'm glad you picked up on it. As far as the faeries go, England without faeries is like tea without water, yo
( ... )
And so well written and adorable as well. Not to mention thoughtful. I love the almost casual way you point out that this young England while still England and not a new nation entirely is not the same England and as you mentioned in another comment is never going to be exactly the same England it's just not possible as he'll have different experiences, a different population base and eventually different history to make up his personality.
I'd really love to see more from this verse you've created a very intriguing doorway into the world (with the implied bits both in the fic and in the comments about Prussia and Germany being close to the new family unit). But even if you didn't this was a very lovely little slice-of-life look into this world.
Yay! =D I'm glad you spotted it! And even happier that you enjoyed it!
And thank you so much for the wonderful prompt. I read it and I simply could not stop thinking about it. There will be more, as there is a ton of things I want to do with this, and I have more pieces partially written, and it will probably be a series of connected short-fics instead of one long one. (Less pressure ^^;;) I'll either post them attached to here when they're ready or de-anon, one of the two.
It took me a while to decide on if New!England should have some of Old!England's memories. But if he's reborn and the majority of his old people are gone, I can't think of any way he could have more than a general 'feeling' of the past, if that. So yes, he's still England, but not quite. My America!muse finds it distressing.
*note to self: learn to put more in the fic than in comment responses, wtf*
I am a fan of inter-connected story series as well. In my last fandom it's pretty much all I wrote and have sort of started one in this fandom as well though still in it's baby-stages. Series are nice because as you said there's less pressure and less chance of leaving something unfinished it the muses abandon you plus there's the ability to go back to a point if you've forgotten something and want to add it in. Yeah I'm a big fan of series.
If you do choose to de-anon it please make sure you include a link to it here. I'm woefully behind on both the main com and the daily_com so there's a good chance I'd miss it or not get to it until months from now...

"running off to be scooped up by Germany."
*dies of cute*
Everyone else summed up what I loved about this fic, so just accept some nearly incoherent love for this fill. And an internet. I would so love to see more more more of this.

And shorter England is awright. It just lengthens his cuddle-worthy phase. <3

England is ALWAYS cuddle worthy even if he won't admit it.

Actually, I was worried that was reaaaally out of place when I posted. ^^; But England demanded to know where 'West' was, so.
